It does have a new warning: This app will stop working on May 15, 2022, but I just downloaded it to check it out and it appears to be working.
It is indeed a shame that a tool that could take this dumpster-fire and make it productive and useful has been abandoned. it is odd, that the newest version was released in November AFTER they abandoned it in April. I didn't even know about it, and I've been doing this since QB first came out in the late 90's.
I loathe the online version, it's just too wasteful, limits the number of screens (and all of the other problems you no doubt already are aware of).

It's the wrong place, the old app, and will not operate once you install.
Sadly for a company of Intuit's capabilities, the old app is the one most easily found when searching the web.
Intuit, fix this problem.

Mark, if you click on wheel at top right of QBO, at the bottom of the Settings list, you will see "Get the Desktop app". Click on that and you can download. Very easy!

I'm having the same problem. Why is it so difficult to download the desktop app? I have qbo but I want to download the app so I don't always have to use the browser
