Hello there, @asjobeck.
In QuickBooks, Accounting tools is only visible for the QuickBooks Online Accountant version account.
In the meantime, if you are using the regular QuickBooks version. You can send your report to your accountant.
Here's how:
You can check out this article if you want to customize your report.
I've also added our page about reports and accounting for future reference.
Let me know if you have other questions. I'll be around to help. Have a nice day!
I use QBOA and the re-classifying transactions tool is amazing, however, it doesn't seem Quickbooks has added a way to use the same feature to add/change Payee Names in batches. Example: There are EZ-Pass charges in multiple expense accounts with no name in the Payee Field. Ez-Pass was not in the vendor list when I was assigned this client, so I cannot pull up the vendor and check all existing transactions and re-classify to one account. Alternatively, if I could search for "Ez-Pass" using the memo field, I could grab all the Ez-Pass payments and re-classify. Neither function is available. Is there something I am missing?
Hi Barbs!
I'm glad that you like the feature. However, it can't only be used to change accounts and classes. For the payee names, you'll want to open each transaction and change them. See more details about reclassifying transactions.
We also have references for the Accountant Tools.
Let me know if you have other questions in mind. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Would be great if Intuit could greatly expand this mass records update functionality. I too have the same issue of needing to update Payee and Balance Sheet accounts on expense records.
