Several checking transactions have been pending for a week, anyone else having this issue?

Hi there, @userrnwpools. I'm here to share some information about the pending status of your checking transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, the Pending status of your checking transactions means that your bank has not yet declared them as cleared. Also, it takes 1-5 banking days for the funds to reach your bank account. In addition to that, there are several factors affecting the funding time. Such as the time of day you enter transactions or your chosen financial institution and how long it takes for them to verify and process electronic transactions.

Once the transaction has cleared your bank account, you now need to match and categorize them in QBO.

If the status doesn't change after the given time frame, I recommend reaching out to our Payments support team to further check the transactions. They can pull up your account in a secure place and verify the reason why they still show as pending.

I'll include this helpful resource that you can use as a guide in making sure the balance of your QBO account matches your real-life bank statement: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

If you have other concerns about your checking transactions, please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good one, and stay safe.

Same Issue.  25 pending transactions, some over 3 weeks old.  over $3,000 in transactions that the vendor never received our money.     Quickbooks has a message on the banking screen showing this message:

Hmm... something isn’t working
While we’re working to fix things on the back end—some account features may be unavailable.

Up to 40 pending transactions of which about $3,000 needs to be returned due to transactions cancelled by one of our suppliers.    This is terrible!

This canned response is old! I was on hold for over an hour with no answer. No one ever called me back, and the chat was a joke, I was handed over to so many chat agents who claimed their department wasn't the correct department to handle my issue my head was spinning. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with customer service from a company. I don't believe anyone is working on this issue because I've seen this same response from over a year ago. Just sad!

It is not the experience we want you to face, userrnwpools. Even though I haven't encountered this issue personally, I understand how you feel, as every cent counts in business. I appreciate you for bringing this to our attention.

The investigation mentioned by my colleagues above is already closed and resolved. When a transaction is in Pending status, it indicates that the bank has not yet cleared it, and it may take 1-5 days for the funds to reach your account. You can get the latest updates on the status by checking with your bank.

Several factors can affect the funding time, such as transaction time, days entered, the authentication methods of your chosen financial institution, and the processing of electronic transactions. You can check out this article for more information: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

In your case, it's best to contact our payment support. Our team of experts has the necessary security protocols to access your account details, which is beyond the scope of what can be done here in the Community space. They can also verify the cause of the pending status and review the transactions, including the associated charges you mentioned.

Here's how to reach our support:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, and go to the Help menu.
  2. Hover to the Search tab. Select Contact Us.
  3. Press Customer and Vendor payments, then type in a short description of your concern in the box provided.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Pick the Chat or Callback option.
