I know the importance of your bank transactions will be in sequence and the running balance will display in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @dannyred27.
In QuickBooks Online, it's essential to sort transactions by date and remember to enable the Running balance in the Gear icon to ensure it will display the correct balance on your account.
On the funnel icon beside the Date, choose the dropdown arrow to arrange your transactions from latest to oldest or from oldest to newest by pointing the arrow upward.
I'll show you how:
Then click the Gear icon to tick the Running balance.

The transactions did update themselves. However, a new issue came up - all the bank and credit card registers no longer show their running balances - I have not entered anything since I discovered this for fear of screwing up something behind the scenes. There was also something strange - I found some transactions from a different date sequence mixed in with the regular transactions for the period
The transactions were eventually entered; however, the running balances of all the registers(bank and credit cards) disappeared. = There may be some transactions out of sequence as well - I need to recheck - this is very frustrating

Thank you, @ErwinQ. Your solution solved my issue. I had to select all transactions in one bank register and sort them by date. That fixed the problem in all the active registers. I have been using QB online for more than a decade and never experienced something like this before. Thanks again. By the way - the 'running balance was checked off already - so it was just a matter of the sort - and I have no idea how that happened - except possibly - the problem encountered with bank transaction imports affected the registers (again - something I have not experienced before ) - have an excellent rest of the weekend.
@Ethel_A - Thanks for your solution. While it did not address my problem, I appreciate you taking the time to offer one. Regards
Thank you for the update and the quick response, dannyred27.
