I agree with you. I finally found that I had downloaded a Mac App zip when I signed up for Quickbooks Online. Using that one, I learned that it can't even find the company file after the login. Tried multiple times. It's buggy, so it appears.
I see that you need guidance on how to install QuickBooks Online desktop app on your Mac device, Jay205. I've got some details to help you.
You can download QuickBooks Online Desktop within your QuickBooks Online account. Note that you can only do it if you're logged in on your QuickBooks Online Accountant or QuickBooks Online Advanced company.
Here's how:
4. A shortcut to the app is installed on your desktop. The app should open automatically upon installation. If it doesn't, open the app from the shortcut.
5. Enter your user ID and password on the sign-in screen. Then click Sign in.
6. The first time you use the desktop app, you’ll see an option to select how QuickBooks is displayed on the main homepage, (you can change this later).
You can also move your file from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with installing QuickBooks Online on your device. Have a great day!
I had transitioned from desktop to online 3 months back. So, these steps do not help.

This is an irrelevant response. Is this a sales pitch to upgrade and completely skip the question? Anyway, the issue has been resolved and I selected a valid response already.
This response is irrelevant. Is this a sales pitch? I guess so.
I accepted DebSheenD's response already. There is no need to score cookie points and make the sales pitch.
