I have the information you need for possible reasons why transactions are missing so we can find them moving forward, wellsellen.
QuickBooks relies on the data provided by your financial institution. Therefore, missing transactions may occur due to delays or interruptions in the bank connection and the program. It can also be your bank is currently undergoing maintenance. To verify this, visit their website.
Additionally, we can check if they have already been synced in QuickBooks by selecting All for the Type, Account, and Date filters to ensure that no transactions are overlooked.
If they don't appear, your browser may be causing the problem. In this case, let's open your account in a private window. This mode doesn't save search histories and can help isolate the issue. Use the following shortcut keys:
If this works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. You can also use another supported browser as an alternative.
For future reference, use this guide in organizing your transactions: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Feel free to click the Reply button below if you have more questions about handling transactions in the program. I'll be around ready to help. Have a great day!
Hi JamaicaA!
Thank you for your quick reply. I have tried all of your suggestions.
1. I signed into my bank website and the site is up and running and I have full access to all of my transactions, and also for those that are not uploading to my QuickBooks account. Also, I have about 5 different bank and credit card accounts associated with my QuickBooks account and for the month of July 2023 only one of them is appearing in my QuickBooks account (August through mid October are also missing several of the credit card/bank accounts, too). Because only 1 of the 5 associated accounts is appearing for July leads me to believe that the problem is not due to website maintenance issues - the likelihood of all those accounts being down due to maintenance at the same time is very low.
2. I opened QuickBooks in a private Firefox window and that did not resolve the issue.
3. I think I cleared my Firefox cache and that did not resolve my issue.
4. I opened QuickBooks in Safari - which I never use and has no previous history of me using QuickBooks - and those bank and credit accounts are still not appearing in my QuickBooks account.
If you have any other suggestions I am happy to give them a try. Otherwise I will try to contact customer service when your offices open on Monday morning.
Thank you,
Ellen
I appreciate the effort in performing the steps shared by my colleague above, wellsellen-comca. I can help provide additional insights to make sure missing transactions from your bank get resolved, so you can get back to business efficiently.
Beforehand, may I know what specific banking account is linked to your QBSE file? Any detailed information will get us closer to the resolution and check if there's an open investigation about your concern.
As mentioned, the program is dependent on the data imported from your banking institution. Thus, you can manually click the Refresh All button to check for the missing bank transactions. Sign in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account from a laptop or desktop device, then refer to the steps below:
In addition to this, you can get older transactions directly from your bank and or manually import them to your online account using a CSV file.
Once transactions are in, you'll have to categorize them to ensure they are assigned to the correct line of your Schedule C.
If there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing bank transactions in your account, just let me know in the comments below. I'll gladly provide additional help at any time. Keep safe and have a great day ahead!
Thank you for taking the time to write back to me. I have not had time to download the information from my accounts to upload to QB.
You asked which bank account is not syncing. Two bank accounts and 3 of the four credit cards connected to my QB weren't syncing. The bank accounts weren't syncing for July-mid October. The three credit cards were not syncing for at least July-August. Maybe some of September too. For the month of July my QB account has JUST FOUR transactions logged. As you can imagine there were a lot more transactions across five different associated bank/credit card accounts. They can't all be out of commission at the same time. Something went wrong somewhere.
It will be a giant hassle to go in to each of those accounts and download all those transactions and then upload into QB. This information essentially is 1/4 of my transactions for the entire year. And because the information missing from September-October is "hit or miss", how can I trust that other transactions for other months are all in my QB account? I may as well save the QB subscription and just try to be diligent with an Excel spreadsheet instead.
I have lost my trust in this system to track my expenditures and will cancel my account after my taxes have been prepared by my own accountant.
Hello there, wellsellen.
I can imagine the hurdle you've been through when trying to sync bank accounts into QuickBooks Self-Employed. This isn't the experience we want you to have. Allow me to chime in so you can get around this issue and be able to see those missing transactions.

Thank you for the reply. When I have time I will try to contact support directly. I am perplexed though that you still insist it's an issue on my end when 4 different accounts from three different institutions are involved during the same several months. I am thinking you don't understand that several different bank/financial institutions are involved.
No need to reply. I'll try to talk to a person when I have several hours to figure this out - and you are open on the weekends so that's a real bummer, too, especially this time of year.
I just wanted to let you know the EXACT SAME THING is happening to me. It's definitely a Quickbooks issues for those exact same months you are experiencing ... my transactions stop syncing July to mid November!
Hello there, Angela.
I understand how important it is for you to sync your transactions accordingly in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). I'm here to help you troubleshoot this problem.
There are times when the browser you're using has data issues, thus causing QuickBooks to act weirdly. To verify, let's log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser. To do so, press this shortcut key on your keyboard:
If this works, you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I suggest switching to a different supported browser.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. This way, they can further check on this matter and provide in-depth troubleshooting steps to get this resolved. They can also open an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same.
Moreover, I'm adding this helpful article as your reference in reconciling your bank transactions in QBSE: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
Return to this post if you have other concerns about your bank transactions in QBSE. I'll be here to lend a hand.
I have the exact same issue with the exact same time frame missing. Anyone know yet what to do?
You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.

Don't hesitate to comment if you still have concerns with your transactions. I'm always here to help.
I have used QuickBooks self employed for 8 years now, and this issue has never happened, so I am now perplexed as to why after huge inflationary and greedy price increases for this product, is the quality of the product deteriorating? I am well versed in this software, and have tried all the steps in this entire thread, NO LUCK, this is absolutely unacceptable. And this thread of tier one basic troubleshooting to SELF EMPLOYED business owners is absolutely tone deaf; We are used to doing things for ourselves, so telling us to reach out to customer support to fix Intuit's problem is insulting.
I understand you're having trouble locating some of your transactions, @BabyBaphy. Let me help you find your missing bank transactions.
There are instances when QuickBooks Self-Employed may be poorly configured due to an overload of site data, potentially causing interruptions between QBSE and your bank.
Since you have already completed the basic troubleshooting suggested by my colleagues, we kindly ask you to contact our support team for further investigation.
In the meantime, you can upload your transactions manually to QuickBooks Self-employed by following these steps:

If you still have questions about your bank transactions, you can always reply on the thread or post a new one. Take care and have a great one.
I have this EXACT same issue with my QBO.
From June to mid-August 2023 I have TWO transactions listed.
I have done everything that you have done to try to resolve it.
I echo that this is clearly a QB issue. I don’t believe Chase Bank had a server down for 2 1/2 months.
I discovered this just weeks ago as I was preparing my taxes. As you already mentioned, manually adding these transactions is incredibly burdensome — not what I was expecting to be doing when tax time rolled around. And because it is “hit or miss” in September/October/etc, I cannot trust that any of the months are correct.
I did an Excel spreadsheet as well.
I have completely lost faith in this software. It is mind-boggling that we have paid a very good chunk of change over the past year and we both ended up eating the cost and on top of that, having to do all the work ourselves, in the busiest tax time of the year.
I understand that you have been facing issues with transactions not appearing in your account from June to August, @vlindner. I am here to help you resolve this problem.
QuickBooks relies on the data provided by your financial institution, I suggest refreshing your account as the connection might be causing the problem.
If refreshing doesn't solve the problem, manually import transactions with a CSV file. Most banks support CSV downloads from their websites. If you use spreadsheets for tracking, you can also save your work in this format. Here's how to import CSV files to get your transactions into QuickBooks:
You can read this article for more details about manually importing transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE): Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please, let me know If there is anything else you would like me to assist you with regarding transactions in QBSE. Our door is always open and you can post here anytime. Take care and have a great day!
I'm encountering a similar issue. Transactions from one of my accounts are missing between mid-June and mid-October, while for the other account, transactions are absent after mid-June until January. Unfortunately, my bank account doesn't offer the option to export CSV files for transactions older than 60 days. This situation is incredibly frustrating!

Is anyone else still having this issue? I am missing transactions across all my accounts for late January to early March of 2024. The responses from Quickbooks seem to be AI generated so I’m not sure they are reliable.
Yup, same issue here. Missing nearly all transactions from all bank and credit card accounts from February to September of this year (2024) so they clearly haven't fixed the issue. CSV downloads don't contain the same information as the linked transactions so when I upload them I still have to manually categorize everything for most of the year. It's thousands of transactions. Total nightmare. Will hopefully have our accountant's office do our bookkeeping in 2025 so we can cancel this software. Absolutely useless with more than half the year's transactions missing. I've wasted so much time already trying to fix this that I probably could have finished my bookkeeping by hand by now.
