We have our accounts with Iberiabank, it was recently purchased by First Horizon, I can no longer link to the bank account even thought QB recognizes the change

I am answering the challenge questions correctly but it still says it is not the answer on record Try again (187) have tried numerous times, gone in and double checked the challenge answers on the first horizon site etc

Hi lisamarie11!

Thanks for reaching out to us. Allow me to assist you in linking the bank.

Please note that most banks have a security feature to protect your data. For example, they require security questions or one-time passcodes (OTP), especially if you'll link the account to third-party platforms.

The error 187 means that you're unable to complete the security questions. When linking the bank into QuickBooks Online, make sure to follow the on-screen steps. This includes verification processes such as OTP.

If this error persists, you'll want to sign in to your bank's website and ensure that the security questions and answers are accurate.

I added this link for more details on what to do with the banking error and how to categorize downloaded transactions:

Comment to this post if you need more help in handling your bank accounts in QuickBooks Online. Take care always!

@lisamarie11

Utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank or connection.
