Who can I contact to get my account data back up? All of the banking information is gone, and my balances show zero. What is up?

My credit card was stolen and cancelled. Once I got the new credit card number, I entered it into Quickbooks several times, but it was not accepted. As a result, the account was discontinued, until the credit card info was accepted. Now my data is gone. I want it back.

When an account is canceled, QuickBooks Online will continue to provide your data in a read-only format for a year. Within that period, you can export it to Excel or to the desktop version to keep a copy. You can use the trial version for QBDT to transfer your file.

The file will be available once you resubscribe since we preserve it for 365 days. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top to select Account and Settings under Your Company.
  2. Tap the Billing & Subscription menu on the left panel to view your subscription.
  3. Hit the Resubscribe button and enter your billing information.
  4. Then, choose the Subscribe button.resubscribe.png

Once done, check the Next charge and make sure it’s not from the past. Follow the steps in this guide and proceed directly to Part 2-important step section: How to resubscribe or reactivate QuickBooks Online.

If you’re still unable to see the banking information or other transactions, I recommend reaching out to our QBO Care Team. They have tools to identify why the data is gone and help you in retrieving it.

Here’s how to contact them:

  1. Click on the Help icon at the top to open the QB Assistant window.
  2. Then, choose how you want to reach out to our support team: Ask a question or Talk to a human.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

For more insights about the availability of your file and export policies after cancelation, see the following guide: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?

Reach out to me if you have any other concerns or clarifications. I’m more than happy to answer them for you. Have a good one.
