QB Desktop app keeps closing when launching the Class list.
We use: QB Enterprise Accountant 22.0.
We can open the company file in single user mode. Then when we go to Lists -> Class List; then its closing the QB app.
We tried retarting the computer but no luck.
Thank you.

It seems that you have already performed some initial troubleshooting procedures, such as resorting the class list and running the Tool Hub. Since these attempts didn't work, let's explore further options to address the crash issue.
To get started, ensure that you're using the latest release of your QuickBooks product. Check for any available updates and install them if necessary. This way, you always get our security patches that help prevent runtime errors and unexpected behaviors. Here's how:
If the same thing happens, we'll have to perform a clean install to rename the folders. It involves completely uninstalling QBDT from your system, removing any residual/junk files, and reinstalling the software from scratch.
Before proceeding, I recommend creating a backup of your company file and any important data. Additionally, have your license number handy and download the installer.
Finally, here are some articles that you can read to learn how to track segments you want to keep a close eye on:

Hi passworddude,
I'll help you resolve the crashing behavior on your QuickBooks.
Do you have a lot of classes? Changing their orders can sometimes cause a loading or crashing issue in QuickBooks. Re-sorting them reverts the order to default and resolves crashing issues.
If the issue persists, you can use the QuickBooks Tool hub to diagnose and resolve it. Here's an article for your reference: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub. After installation, you can follow Step 2 and select the Company File Issues tool of the hub.
I'm just right here if you need further assistance, so feel free to reach back out if you need more help. Take care!

Hi @KlentB ,
Thank you for the solutions.
We did perform an update and no luck so far.
And we can't perform a clean install due to company limitations; so we will try to restore from previous backups and then perform out steps.
If problem still persists then I will get back to the community.
Thank you again!
I am having the same problem with my Quickbooks, but it involves trying to get to my second account. I open up Quickbooks and then I want to change companies. So I go to File and select the second company and then Quickbooks closes. I know I have updated my subscription. It has been doing this for about six months, but before I could restart my computer and it would let me into the second company. Now I have tried it numerous times and still cannot get into that second company file. I cannot do a backup as I cannot get into the account.
I recognize that you've updated your subscription to ensure you can continue accessing your QuickBooks Desktop account, aw127. Let me provide you with various methods to open the second company file along with troubleshooting steps.
There are three (3) ways to open a Secondary file while the first company file is open. You can choose from the following:
On the other hand, avoid using the File menu > Open or Restore Company to open a second company file.
Additionally, updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release can ensure smooth system operation and prevent any issues. Please also ensure that the file you intend to open is a company file (.QBW) and not the other file types (QBB) and (QBM). Afterward, check if your file isn't compressed or encrypted by following these steps:
While QuickBooks will re-open any windows left open when you close your company file, a large report, or several ones designated to open automatically may also cause the program to freeze on startup. In this case, proceed to the instructions below:
If your company opens successfully, turn off the Save the desktop when closing preference. This article contains the following details: Can't open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop. Otherwise, continue to other solutions.
Furthermore, refer to this guide to learn the restrictions on both Primary and Secondary files: Open and use a secondary company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can always get back to this thread for additional queries about logging in to your company files. I'll be here to assist you.
Can you open the sample file as the second company?
