We would like to know if we will not be able to Restore our backup (QBB) QBES Platinum to QBES Silver (downgrade) version? What are the Pros & Cons if we downgrade from QBES Platinum to QBES Silver?

If you don't need the payroll module, you should downgrade to QB Desktop Premier Plus instead. How many user license do you need?

Hi, we need 7 licenses for 7 users , that is why we need the QBES.

We also reside here in the Philippines Sir/Ma'am. And we ask our third-party person to downgrade our Platinum to Silver QBES. But they said that if we do that, our current QBB (backup) copy of our recent Database won't be restored using the QBES Silver edition. Is this true?

You may have 2 options

1. QB Desktop 2024 QBES Silver subscription for 7 users

2. QB Desktop 2024 Premier Accountant for 10 users

1. If you have QBES 2024 Platinum subscription now, you can restore the backup file on QBES 2024 Silver without any conversion process. Unfortunately that 3rd party person didn't share the correct information.

2. You can purchase a 3rd party service to downgrade data from QBES to Pro/Premier/Mac.

3.  When is your renewal due date for QBES Platinum subscription?

1. 2023 Platinum QBES (QBB Backup Copy).

2. We will need to Downgrade from QBES Platinum to QBES Silver effective February 16, since our Due date for Renewal would be on February 15, 2024 (we will be using 7 licenses, so QBES Silver is still good for our company file).

Our next step is this:

3. We need to Restore our 2023 QBES Platinum (QBB) to 2024 QBES Silver by February 16.

     Are we still able to Open our backup file or not? Because it's our 3rd-party person said so.

We are so confused right now. Because we really need to downgrade. And we cannot redo our recent company file because we have lots of transactions. Please enlighten us.

1. Make sure you can access your CAMPS as the Primary Contact and cancel your subscription license on Feb 14 at the latest. Otherwise you may need extra efforts to claim the refund.

2. You can restore your backup file created on QBES 2023 on QBES 2024. If you are not sure, you can install the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 to prove it.

3. I am not sure whether your 3rd party person is not trustworthy or simply ignorant. You can click on Fiat Lux's profile name and you will find their website address to send emails. They can help you to obtain the new license of QB Desktop 2024 and other required services.

1. Secure a backup file with the original setting

2. Turn-off any advanced setting you have now

We have simulated our database late last night. And upon doing all the instructions by Turning OFF any Advanced feature of our current 2023 QBES Platinum Accountant Edition and use a simple or standard setup. We then made a backup copy and restored it using 2024 Enterprise Trial version (Contractors).

And we Restored it successfully without any error and still have the Standard setup of QBES.

In this case, if you've purchased a license directly from Intuit there will be an email confirmation for the license and product number. If not, you sign in to camps.intuit.com to check some information about the license number. Also, if you've installed QuickBooks hit F2 on your keyboard to see the product information.

However, if you can't find any information on the scenarios above, I would recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team. They can pull up your account and verify the license and product number. Here's how: 

1. Go to this link: Contact Us.
2. Select QuickBooks Desktop., then click Continue.
3. Make sure it has the right edition, then type in a short description of your concern.
4. Click Continue.
5. Select Chat with us or Have us call you.

Why do you hesitate? 

Hello. I am trying to figure out if I can downgrade my Desktop edition to the most basic version as i don't use any of the features that are included in the edition that I currently have. I just have to make sure that i will be able to at least see all past invoices made in my current edition.
