Am I charged $4/month for an inactive employee on my account?

Thanks for dropping by the QuickBooks Community. If you're referring to our QuickBooks Online Core payroll add-on then you came to the right place for answers. The $4/per employee per month only refers to active employees on payroll, so if they're set to inactive, then you will not charged for them. If you still need to set an employee to inactive you can follow these steps.

1. Go to Workers or Payroll menu, then select Employees.
2. Under Action, select the drop-down beside Edit.
3. Select Make Inactive.
