Thanks for the update @TJSbox.
There are two scenarios here.
1.If you use QuickBooks Online Payroll Core with automatic tax payments and filings turned off, you'll need to e-file your W-2s. When you e-file, your W-2s are sent to the SSA and state agencies. Then print your W-2 forms and send them to your employees by January 31. Your employees can also view their W-2s online in QuickBooks Workforce.
2. If you have automatic tax payments and filings turned on ( we pay and file for you), we’ll mail W-2s to your employees starting January 20 through January 31. You can reprint them on plain paper if you need to starting January 13.
There's not an option where we would pay and file and not send out W-2's.
Good Morning @TJSbox.
Happy Tuesday!
The steps to print your W-2s depend on if you chose to have us pay and file your federal and state payroll taxes for you, or if you opted to pay and file them yourself, as well as which payroll product you're using.
If you have QuickBooks Online payroll and we pay and file for you, here are the steps to print W2s:
If you have a different QuickBooks payroll product, check here for steps to print W2s.
Let me know if you have any additional questions about printing W2s or anything else. I'm happy to help anytime.
Have a great day!
Will Quickbooks still send W2's to the employees also?
Will payroll service still send a copy to the employee's?
If you have QuickBooks Desktop Assisted payroll @TJSbox, we file your W-2s and W-3 forms with the IRS and SSA for you.
As far as sending them to your employees, that depends on if you chose to have us print and send them to your employees, or if you chose to print and send them yourself. You can print current and previous year W-2s as long as you were using Assisted Payroll.
If you have QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced or Standard Payroll, You’ll need to print and send W-2s to your employees postmarked by January 31.
Not sure which payroll service you have? Here's how to find your payroll service.
If you invite your employees to use QuickBooks Workforce, they can view and print their own W-2 copies for the current year and previous two years if you were using our payroll services during that time. This makes providing W2s really simple.
As always, let me know if you have any additional questions.
Take Care!
It says I have QuickBook Online Payroll Core, Intuit Online Payroll Efile _ 1099.
All I am wanting to do is print out the W2's and to give them to the employees without Quickbooks
printing and sending them out. I want Quickbooks to file all other forms

I purchased preprinted forms for a small group of 50 employees. I cannot seem to be able to print at all. I have used QB for years with no issue. I am on desktop. I did try Tool Hub with no help.
