QuickBooks Desktop has an option to override the amounts on the W-2 form. Please note that you're unable to file this form electronically if the overriding process is done.
If the W-2 forms are not yet submitted to the IRS, here's what you need to do. Reprocess the W-2 and W-3 forms with the correct amounts and give those to your employee.
However, if the forms are already filed to the IRS, here's what you need to do:
For for information, check this article: Fix an incorrect W-2 Form.
Once done, issue a W-2c form to each of your employees who received an incorrect W-2 form. If the employee has already filed a tax return with an incorrect W-2, they must file an amended return using Form 1040X and the corrected Form W-2.
Please visit the RS website to get the amendment form and general instructions for W-2 and W-3 forms.
Let me know if you have other concerns. I'm always here to help. Take good care!

Really? When did that happen? That was never a rule before...
Do you have documentation for the feature that indicates this, for QB Desktop Payroll?
