Another week gone with no fix.
I have tried the "Repair", the "re-install", the "Cache", etc. Nothing works.
What is the STATUS?
I called this morning. NO update. This has been 4 weeks for us now.
Thanks for getting back with the Community, gmaricevic. I appreciate you performing our recommended troubleshooting steps.
I've reviewed our investigation and can confirm it's currently being researched by Intuit's Product Investigations team.
If your account hasn't been added to it as an affected user, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team and referencing the investigation's case number (INV-89246). They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and get it added to the investigation. This ensures you'll receive email notifications about any updates relating to it.
They can be reached while using QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a great Monday!
Hopefully this helps direct your team to the solution.
Using my proxy server, I blocked internet communications to Intuit, when I open the employee center it appears like the pre-update version, and runs smoothly.
Disable the block and the new version and the slowness returns.
How did you block proxy server or Intuit internet communication?
This is getting out of control with Intuit, over a month and nothing.
My proxy server allows me to blacklist block specific domains, I blacklisted intuit.com and intuitcdn.net. Another alternative if you do not have a proxy server setup, would be to use your DNS server to redirect those domains to 127.0.0.1.
Some routers have firewalls with built-in domain blocking, you could add those domains there if you have the ability.
One note though, this will block communications for uploading payroll, it will need disabled when doing that, it will also prevent automatic download of updates. and anyone on the network trying to access their paystubs would be blocked as well.
Reposting from another discussion thread... I just updated to the latest release and the Employee Center does seem to be functioning better... fingers crossed that it lasts!
ALL, I just got this email.
Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you for requesting updates on the issue: Employee Center Freezing/Latency.
Good news, the issue has been resolved in the latest release of all supported versions of QuickBooks. Click the link for steps to Update QuickBooks to the latest release: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/update-products/update-quickbooks-desktop-to-the-l...
Below are the latest releases you will need to have this fix.
QuickBooks Care Team
I have also had the same issue as everyone else. Freezing and slow in employee file only however, now I can not open the employee tab at all. QB just shuts down ever time I click on the employee tab. This just started today after several weeks of the other issues.
I need help immediately for this issue as I need to run payroll.
I recognize the need to use the payroll service smoothly, Brenb.
Let's download the latest maintenance release to fix bugs in older versions and optimize the overall performance of your QuickBooks.
Before we proceed, close all programs and restart your computer. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) icon and select Run as the Administrator.
Next, update QBDT. Here's how:
See this article to learn more on the various ways to install the latest maintenance release: Update QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, download the latest tax table version. This is to get accurate rates and calculations for federal and supported state taxes, payroll tax forms, and e-file and e-pay options.
Next, open the Employee Center again. You can also utilize the QuickBooks Tool Hub if the desktop program continues to freeze or stopped working.
I've included a link that includes resources to guide you on how to manage your employees' information, handle tax notices, and process payroll forms, to name a few: Self-help articles.
Reach out to me again if you have other payroll-related concerns or questions. I'll get back to help you the best that I can.
7/14 - program updated. server updated. payroll data updated. cache increased to max. employee center still crashing on 2021.
7-14: program updated, server updated, payroll data updated, max cache set...employee center still crashing.
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, sentryair. I appreciate your detailed information.
Since you've performed each of our recommended troubleshooting processes, but QuickBooks is still crashing when you try accessing your Employee Center screen, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team and referencing the investigation's case number (INV-89246) if you haven't yet.
They'll be able to pull up the account in a secure environment and add you to our list of affected users. This assures you'll receive email notifications about any news relating to our case.
I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a lovely Friday!
I have 2 clients both on enterprise v23. having the same issue.
Sun 7/16/23 Right Networks has the new releases of the QBs versions with the employee center fix. They get the new releases on the weekends so if you are using QBDT with Right Networks Cloud Hosting, you should no longer have the problem with the employee center without having to do anything further. As our 2022 QBDT Enterprise seemed to be working, I had them upgrade us to 2023. Both versions seem to have resolved the employee center problem.....so far.
The fix that was pushed through around 7/14 fixed the issue for us. However, when we got in today, there was another update to install, which we did and lo and behold, he employee center freezing problem is back. SO they have broken it again with this latest update unfortunately.
We are seeing the same, it was fixed but is now broken again with the latest update this morning.. For those that have not update, you may want to hold off a bit.
We are running Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022 locally
Intuit Quickbooks Support >> Please let us know the investigation number we need to request being added to for proper notification of another fix to this same problem. Thank you,
It happened to our company as well, worked and then update yesterday, employee center now freezing again today
If you are on QB 2022, the update R10_7 WILL break your employee center again. It was running great on R9_70 for about 2 weeks, but they managed to break again.
Fanstastic job, Intuit, 5 stars, Hooray!
I can only imagine how difficult this must be for everyone. Let me make it up to you by ensuring this gets investigated again.
The previous investigation is already closed. Since the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the necessary tools to determine what's causing the problem to occur again. It'll also allow them to submit a new ticket to our engineering team to alert them about this if necessary.
Here's how:
Additionally, you'll want to invite your employees to QuickBooks Workforce to allow them to access their W-2s and pay stubs conveniently. By doing so, they will receive email notifications when these documents are available for viewing and printing.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding employee management, feel free to ask in the Community. I'm available 24/7 to assist you. Stay safe!
For all who are affected, a new investigation number has been started for this new (but related) problem. Please reference INV-88303 for this. I have spent past 4 hours between online chats and phone calls and they tried all the usual bag of tricks, none of which fixes the employee center latency issue. The fix will just have to come from another new update similar to the one 2 weeks ago and hopefully it can sty fixed a while longer this time.
Also, as others have said, I would avoid downloading the latest update. If you are on update R9.70, stay there! R10 will mess you up again!!!
Thanks for the information!
I just did the update hoping it would fix the problem. The employee center is slower than it was. It is very frustrating.
