Employee Status

QuickBooks Desktop has a field for this. It seems Online should as well:

If not, I suppose you'll need to track it outside of QuickBooks.

Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) offers a predefined set of status options for employees, which includes:

• Active
• Paid leave of absence
• Unpaid leave of absence
• Terminated
• Not on payroll
• Deceased

While QBO doesn't have a specific 'part-time' status, you can use the Notes section within the employee's profile to indicate their part-time status.

Here's how you can do it:

1. Go to the Payroll menu and then the Employees tab.
2. Click the employee's name.
3. Select the Notes tab.
4. Click Add notes.
5. Add a note stating that the employee is part-time and any relevant details you want to include.

Additionally, we encourage you to share your feedback regarding the need for a dedicated 'part-time' status option in QBO. We appreciate your understanding and value your input as we continuously strive to enhance our product and meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Here's how:

1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
   
2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.
