Federal Form 941s

I am trying to access our Federal Form 941s for 2020. On the 'Saved Filings' tab it only goes back to 6/30/2021, but on the 'E-Filings' tab it goes back to 2016. The only thing it shows me on that tab is the Audit Trail report, but not the actual form report. There is a discrepancy between what was reported to the IRS and Social Security and I need to see what the 941s showed.

Federal Form 941s

Hi there, jeffbrown614.

You can access 941 forms from previous years in your Payroll Center.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Employees, then Payroll Center.
  2. Open your File Forms tab.
  3. Under Filing History, click Saved Filings.
  4. A table of all of the company's saved tax forms will be displayed. Once you've found one you're looking for, click its link under your Saved PDF column to access a copy of it.

You'll also be able to find many detailed resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks - the problem is that there are no saved filings before 6/21. Does this mean they weren't saved? Am I going to have to contact IRS to get them?

Federal Form 941s

Hello, @jeffbrown614.

Thanks for getting back and providing additional information when accessing Federal Forms 941.

If you rename or move your company file, the saved tax forms will no longer show. The Saved Filings location is dependent on where the company file is stored. To locate and access the tax forms, you'll have to find the file manually on your company file.

It would also be best to update the tax table version and download the latest maintenance release. It helps improve the overall performance of the program. Also, provide accurate rates and calculations for the following: Supported state and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and e-file and payment options.

For more information on the latest payroll update, you can read this article: Latest payroll news and updates.

You can count on me if you have further questions in accessing your Federal form 941. Just leave a comment below. I'll be more than happy to answer it for you. Enjoy the rest of your day, @jeffbrown614.

Federal Form 941s

I also have the same problem, there were no save files on my QB desktop 2023.

I need the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2023. Is there any way I can get a copy for the workmen's compensation audit?
