Adding a client to an existing payroll subscription is easy and fast. Perform the steps below:
Go to the Employees menu at the top of the customer's account.
Select Payroll from the list, then pick Use My Existing Payroll Service.
Mark the Use Subscription Number XXXXXXX [ Payroll Subscription Version] below Identify Subscription. If you don't see your own subscription in the list, select Other: I have an existing subscription and a Zip Code.
Press Next twice to add the company EIN.
Click on Return to QuickBooks Desktop.
However, if you don't have this option on the client's company file, I recommend contacting our phone support to create a Service Key for them. Here's how to get a support specialist:
Go to your QuickBooks Home page, then click the Help menu at the top.
Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help from the drop-down.
Hit the Contact us icon.
Once you have the key, enter it manually in QuickBooks. Follow these steps:
From the Employees menu, pick Payroll.
Choose Enter Payroll ServiceKey.
Two ways to verify the status of the Service Key:
On the Employees menu, select My Payroll Service then Manage Service Keys.
