How Do I Know that I paid my employees through Direct Deposit?

I am setting this up for the first time, money was supposed to be direct deposited today but is not. When I go to history it said pay by check.

How Do I Know that I paid my employees through Direct Deposit?

Hi there, userwileskar.

 

To confirm that you've paid employees through Direct Deposit, I suggest going to each of their profiles. From there, you'll be able to see if the employee is set up for DD. If this is the case, they are paid through Direct Deposit.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu on the left panel.
  2. Choose the Employees section.
  3. Select the employee's name. Then, choose the edit (pencil) icon beside Pay.
  4. Go to the How do you want to pay this employee? section. Then, make sure that is set up for a direct deposit. You can change the way the employee wants to receive their pay if necessary.

On the other hand, setting up a direct deposit takes two to three business days to confirm. You'll receive an email from us with the status. That said, you can go to the Payroll Settings to confirm if direct deposit is ready to use. This could be the reason that the money for payroll was supposed to be direct deposited but it said pay by check.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Choose Payroll Settings.
  3. Select Company under Bank Accounts. From there, this is what will appear depending on the status:

 

  • Connected/Active: Bank account details connected to send payroll with QuickBooks Online and option to Update it.
  • Pending: "We're getting your bank account ready." Information about test transactions will also show.
  • Waiting for verification: You have the option to enter test transactions.
  • Failed: "Update your bank account. We couldn't verify this bank account."

Hi there, @userwileskar.

 

It's my pleasure to walk you through the process of how you can change the payment method from paper check to direct deposit.

 

  1. Go to the Workers tab in the left menu.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Click Run payroll.
  4. Choose the name of your employee.
  5. Under Payment Method change Direct deposit to Paper check.

 

After you complete this setup, the next paycheck you create for the employee will be marked for direct deposit. 

 

Once everything is properly set up, please run the payroll 2 business days, before 5:00 PM, prior to the payment date to ensure that your employees will receive their pay.
