How do I set up Canada employee? They do not have SS#. Also, will Canadian bank accounts/routing numbers work for direct deposit?

How do I set up Canada employee? They do not have SS#. Also, will Canadian bank accounts/routing numbers work for direct deposit?

Hello there, @meganshroy.

 

You can set up your employees then enter a dummy SS number for the meantime. Once done, you can run payroll through a manual paycheck. Let me guide you how.

 

  1. Go to the Workersthen select the Employees.
  2. Select Add an employee.
  3. Enter the employee's information.
  4. Select Save.

 To create a manual paycheck, here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Workers and select Employees.
  3. Select Run Payroll.

You'll want to let your employees contact the IRS to get their SSN numbers.
