Join nowQuickBooks Online mobile app lets you track business mileage for multiple vehicles, jhbeechko.
You'll have to make sure to turn on the automatic mileage tracking feature in your mobile app to see the mileage icon. Let me guide you how:
If you want auto-tracking to work, turn on your mobile device's background location permission. You can follow the steps from Apple. Set your device's location permissions to Always. For the most accurate trip tracking, also turn on Motion & Fitness permissions.
Once done, you can now add vehicles to QuickBooks Online. Here's how:
After you're done with the setup, you can now track business mileage. Please read this article: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, the mileage report can be pulled up by clicking on the Download Trip button from the Trips page. This will open a report in an Excel file that shows all the trips that you've entered. Thanks for the reply MariaSoledadG. I have already set it up on my iOS app to auto-track. I've added cars too. My business parter (who is admin status) doesn't have the mileage option on her app. She's logged in to the app with the correct email, and when I click the menu icon, there isn't an option for mileage at all.
This is what's confusing me. Does QB only allow me to track milage for one user? That wouldn't make much sense..
Thanks for your time!
Thanks for getting back to us here, @jhbeechko.
I'll share some steps on how to fix your user's mileage feature. Let's start by adding the QuickBooks mobile app to the permissions lists (on your user's mobile app). She might have third-party antivirus apps or apps that boost memory or battery saving, that may interfere with mileage tracking. Have her add the QuickBooks mobile app to whitelists or ignore lists.
After that, update the QuickBooks mobile app. Here's how:
Once done, update your user's device to the latest version of iOS. The app needs iOS 12.2 or later to work properly.
Lastly, turn on the Significant Locations feature. This helps QuickBooks track your trips, but it's optional. You can also use Apple's steps to learn more about location settings.
After completing the above troubleshooting steps, let your user sign back into the app and check the mileage tab.
You can find more details about mileage in this article: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
