Is qbo dcaa compliant, and if not, is there something that will make it so?

I appreciate you joining in this thread, JTinVB.

You can look for a third-party application that allows you to manage employee's uncompensated OT since this feature isn't supported yet in QuickBooks Online. Please visit our Apps page through your QBO account.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. From the left pane, click on Apps.
  3. Search for apps in the search box.

QuickBooks displays the list of applications available that match the description you entered. Once you find the right app, click the icon to open it.

You can also visit this link for a better view: https://apps.intuit.com/. From there, you can find different apps that are compatible and designed to work with QuickBooks Online.

Also, QuickBooks Time or TSheets is different. I'd suggest getting in touch with their Support Team so they'll be able to assist you on how to handle UNCOMPENSATED OT.

Additionally, you can read through this article: Bidding For Government Contracts?. It contains in-depth information on how DCAA works in QuickBooks as well as tips to allocate time to different projects.

Let me know if you have any other concerns or questions about QuickBooks by leaving a comment in this post. I'm always here to answer them. Have a great week ahead.

@JTinVB

Hi Hilarie -

Just saw your message here, where u mentioned using spreadsheets for this.  No, that is crazy to me.

I have had over 100 GovCon clients and definitely none use spreadsheets for uncompensated OT.

Our timekeeping/accounting system does all automatically. PROCAS is designed for small GovCon.

Yes is required by DCAA for CPFF contracts. Indirect rate calculations are also required monthly and

there are more requirements that make it worthwhile to get a system that does all automatically.

DCAA-Assist LLC here, permit me to chime in. QBO is ill suited to Gov't Contracting since it lacks a fully integrated Payroll Module that can import digital time and process Gross Wages that would include automatic adjustments for UCOT. QB's Desktop has this functionality. You can use a Labor Distribution xls for this purpose and it works if done correctly. Reach out if I can be of any further service, solutions at dcaa-assist dot com.

Good question on the 2023 update.  I think it has been over 30 years that users have been asking for this.

@btks Thanks for the kudos two years later, I love it. My song remains the same. 20 more clients since then and have now refined my business to only support the one system I mentioned and conversions to it of course. Just saw my post again here and noticed that I did not mention price which is usually a major concern for QB users.  I believe if you look at the PROCAS website, you will see the price of $3450 to start but is only $610 with me. So for Govt contractors who have outgrown QB, I can help.
