Is there a quarterly withholding option for state taxes in payroll

It's great to see you here today, @tfdn

The withholding payment frequency for state taxes depends on your state agency's rules and regulations. I'd first suggest contacting them to confirm if your business requires you to have a quarterly deposit schedule. You can also visit this website: Payroll Tax Compliance Links. Just click the link specific to your state. Once done, click Withholdings and find the Tax Payment Frequency Detail section to verify if the program supports the quarterly withholding option.

Once confirmed, go to the Payroll Settings so you can choose a deposit schedule. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Gear (Settings) icon at the upper right.
  2. Select Payroll Settings under Your Company.
  3. Under Taxes, click State Taxes - [State Name]
  4. In the State Withholding Setup section, click Change or add new schedule
  5. Choose Quarterly from the Deposit Schedule drop-down menu.
  6. Enter the Effective Date
  7. Click OK

The screenshot below is specific to GA, but it covers the same instructions for the last three steps above.

Once done, create paychecks for your employees. Then, run payroll reports to make sure the payroll and tax info are accurate.

During tax time, make payroll tax payments and file quarterly forms to the appropriate agencies through the program. This ensures your taxes are reported on time.

I'm just a post away if there's anything else you need. Have a good day, @tfdn
