Thanks for reaching out to us, usershoretileandston.

To get this fix, let's ensure that auto-tracking is on in the QuickBooks mobile app.

On iOS (iPhone and iPad):

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Select the menu ☰ icon.
  3. Click All and choose Mileage.
  4. Select Auto-track your miles.
  5. Follow Allow location access onscreen instructions.

On an Android phone or tablet:

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app:
  2. Select the menu ☰ icon.
  3. Clickthe Mileage menu.
  4. Select Auto-track your miles.

Once verified, check your device's location settings. For more detailed steps, check out this article: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Please let me know in the comment section below how it goes after trying the troubleshooting steps above or if you have any questions. I'll be around to help. Have a good day.

Good morning, @usershoretileandston.

Thanks for taking the time to reach back out to us and letting us know that you have these settings on. I'm happy to lend a hand with tracking your mileage.

A quick thing to note when it comes to tracking mileage in the QuickBooks Online App, is to not try tracking mileage when connected to Wi-Fi. It's been known to cause issues for some of our users. Instead of Wi-Fi, use your mobile data, it's been found that the tracker's performance improves when your phone is connected to your vehicle via Bluetooth.

On the other hand, we can try some basic troubleshooting steps to help clear the app's cache. Like web browsers, the QuickBooks Online mobile app collects cache to save time when loading repetitive data and images. Over time the files can become outdated and corrupted, causing issues like the one with your mileage tracking not working properly. I've included the steps to clear the cache below.

  1. Click the Help menu in the top-most part of the app.
  2. Select Reset App Data.

Once you've cleared the data, log back in and check your mileage tracking.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I'll be here every step of the way. As always, feel free to reach out to the Community any time you need a helping hand. Take care and have a great rest of your week!

Thank you for your response.  I tried resetting the app data as well as turning the wifi off and neither of these fixed the issue.  My app still isn’t tracking any mileage.

I’m having the same issue. Have reset the app numerous times and even deleted and reinstalled numerous times but it’s just not tracking mileage. I’ve downloaded another mileage tracking app and it’s tracking my mileage now. I hate to have to pay for a separate mileage app when I’m paying for quickbooks already. This seems to be an issue with the the app or with the version of ios 14.5.1

Hi, @pasugg.

I appreciate you for performing multiple troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue you had with mileage tracking. I'm here to share with you some additional information about this.

Due to the reported issues by some customers getting the same behavior, we have a new investigation about Auto track mileage is not creating trips automatically. Our engineers are now working and looking for a resolution to isolate this issue as quickly as possible.

To keep track of your miles data, you can temporarily add them to QuickBooks manually. Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on Mileage at the left pane, then tap on Add trip.
  3. Fill in the trip details, then click on Submit.

On the other hand, I also recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can pull up your account securely and add your name to the list of affected users in this investigation (INV-58159). Once added, you'll automatically receive an email notification of the latest updates.

To contact support:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Select either tab to get started:
    • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can choose to Talk to a human.
