Pay Types listed as "Other Earnings" on Payroll Table _ Quickbooks Online

UPDATE - This problem for Quickbooks Online
When clicking Employees/Pay Types they (pay types) all seem to be listed correctly as they usually are.
However, when I click Run Payroll, the table then lists several pay types as "Other Earnings"

There is no way to know where to put the data that I need to input, as several columns have the same "other earnings" name rather than what they should be labeled as.

When will this be resolved? Calling Quickbooks, I was told that I am "dead in the water" that they cannot give me any information as to what is wrong, when this will be fixed, and if I will even be able to run payroll before the deadline to get employees paid.

Hi there, ATFVA. I understand you've already exhausted all the resources to resolve this. I want to share some solutions to fix the data issues you're experiencing.

I suggest updating the QuickBooks release version and verifying and rebuilding your data. It will help resolve your company file's most commonly known data issues.

Here are some of the common reasons to use the Verify and Rebuild features:

  • Fatal errors when using QBDT.
  • Discrepancies on reports, such as invoices or bills that post with negative values.
  • Deposited payments show up in the Payments to Deposit window.
  • Balance sheet reports don't display all accounts.
  • Missing names from lists.
  • Missing transactions.
  • Run a well-data checkup to make sure your company file is error-free.

Follow these to verify data:

  1. Select the Window at the top menu bar, then hit Close All.
  2. Open the File menu then select Utilities.
  3. Click on Verify Data.

On the other hand, here's how to rebuild data:

  1. Select the Window at the top menu bar, then hit Close All.
  2. Open the File menu then select Utilities.
  3. Click on Rebuild Data.

Review this module: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop, for more information about the process.

I appreciate you notifying us of your experience by joining the thread, @BNSTreas. It shouldn't be happening with your payroll item types. Let me provide you with some updates about this behavior.

I want you to know that our engineers are actively working together and prioritizing this issue related to custom pay types not appearing correctly when running payroll to gather a resolution as quickly as possible. While they're doing that, I suggest contacting our Payroll Team to have your name added to the list of affected users in the ongoing investigation. Pay Types listed as "Other Earnings" on Payroll Table _ Quickbooks Online

Hi,

When this issue is resolved could you make suggestions as to how to correct financial reports for pay that had to be processed as "other earnings" because the usual pay types were not available?

Also, where exactly in the Payroll Team link do I find the link to contact to report the issue with missing payroll types?  I am only able to get to a bot chat.

Workaround: Click three dots at the right side of the table per employee and select Edit Paycheck, where you can see the field names correctly.

Had no problems until I tried to run payroll today. Now the list of pay types is different than when running payroll. The workaround is good but it would be better if this had never happened. Good ole Intuit. Leave it to them to change things and make it harder to perform tasks. Evidently no one has ever told them if it ain't broke don't fix it.
