payroll check is printing as a check stub

We can check your print settings to ensure they are set up correctly, arthurbowden. Let me walk you through this process.

Before printing paychecks, kindly check your print settings to ensure they are configured correctly. We can navigate to Payroll Settings and adjust them as needed.

Kindly follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right corner, then choose the Payroll Settings.
  2. Scroll down, look for the Printing section, then click the Pencil icon.
  3. Choose your default printing preferences.
  4. You can click the Align my printer button, then hit the Save option.
  5. Select Done to exit the Payroll Settings.

After adjusting your Payroll Settings, you can print or reprint your paychecks using a private browser.

You can also run a Check Detail report and customize it according to your preferences.

Please let me know if you have additional questions regarding printing your checks. I'll be around to help you further.

payroll check is printing as a check stub

Thank you for replying to me.  The payroll print settings have all been checked and they are all correct.  These have been in place for a long time.  I have been printing this empolyee's check for several years with no issues.  I am still getting the payroll stub in the print preview.  Do you have any other suggestions?

I appreciate your effort in following the steps provided by the previous agent, Arthur. Since the persists, let's go ahead and troubleshoot this further.

We can troubleshoot the printing issue you're experiencing by opening your account using incognito window. When your browser gets overloaded, it causes formatting issues when printing your payroll checks in QuickBooks.

Let's access your account using private window since it won't save your browsing activity, cache and cookies or site data. To use one, here are the keyboard shortcuts you can follow:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P
  • Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

Once there, open your account and access your payroll check. If it shows the information you wanted, please consider clearing your cookies or browsing history. Also, please make sure that you're using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, to ensure that you won't experience any issue when printing.

For more information, please check this article: Troubleshoot printing paychecks, pay stubs, and forms.

Moreover, if the issue persists after following the mentioned steps above, I recommend contacting our support team. They have the appropriate tools and skills to help identify the cause of this matter.

If you want to find a missing employee pay stub in QuickBooks, here's an article you can refer for guidance: Troubleshoot missing pay stubs.

You're free to reply to this post if you need further help in address the issue you're having with payroll check, Arthur. I'll be here to help.
