Payroll: Contractor checks

I have contractors paid in 2021 and am working on the 1099s. How do I add payments so that I can issue 1099s?

I tried to create a check, but I cannot use a past date?

Payroll: Contractor checks

Hello, Hollywood_Rich.

Welcome to the Community. I'm here to help you select pass dates when creating payroll checks in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks will allow you to choose the pass date when creating any transactions in QBO. Since it's unavailable on your end, this might be a webpage cache issue.  To verify this, we can try using your browser's incognito feature. This feature doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to test if there's an issue with the browser.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

If it works, I suggest you go back to your main browser and then clear the cache and make sure that the browser is up-to-date to fix issues in using QuickBooks Online.

In addition, here's an article that you can read to help manage and track your employee and payroll expenses in QuickBooks: Run payroll reports.

Don't hesitate to visit the Community again if you need further assistance in handling your other payroll transactions. We're open here 24/7 and always ready to back you up.
