Payroll Subscription

My payroll subscription status is Active but when I try to cut a new check, Quickbooks says my subscription needs to be renewed.  Any thoughts?

Payroll Subscription

@chrisdee The same thing happened to us this past month. QuickBooks had us send a "blank" payroll in. This seemed to reengage the system... weird.

We got help by asking for a call back and putting in the request "Help with (specific payroll subscription you have)".

Intuit called us in less than 5 minutes and walked us through the steps.

Cheers!

Hope this helps

Payroll Subscription

Let me provide some insights about the renewal notification that show, @chrisdee.

There are several reasons why you're getting a Reactivate Payroll Subscription notice in QuickBooks.

  • QuickBooks is not updated.
  • If the automatic renewal isn't successful, or the credit card or bank account on file is outdated.
  • Intuit is having trouble getting authorization for your payroll charges.
  • The payroll tax table isn't updated.

To know more about the Payroll subscription alerts and how to fix them, please take a look at this article t: Update or Renew Your Subscription.

Also, make sure your QuickBooks software is updated to the latest release. Once done, let's run a payroll update to refresh your payroll settings. Follow the steps below:

  1. Proceed to the Employees menu.
  2. Select Get Payroll Updates.
  3. Mark the Download Entire Update checkbox
  4. Click Download Latest Update.
  5. A window appears when the download is complete.

Then, let's also verify the service key number if it's correct. If not, make sure to edit it.

Here's how:

  1. From the Employees menu, choose My Payroll Service.
  2. Choose Manage Service Key.
  3. Find and select the service key.
  4. Click Remove and choose Yes on the prompt message.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Re-type your active payroll service key, select Next.
  7. Re-enter your disk delivery key, select Next.
  8. Select Finish and hit OK.
