Activate Direct Deposit for Payroll on Quickbooks Desktop

I have Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 on my Dell PC. We have enhanced payroll services. I'm trying to activate direct deposit but every time I try a pop up opens and says "Something went wrong, try again". I've tried multiple times. Restarted my computer and quickbooks. But I get the same message every time. Has anyone else experienced this?

Activate Direct Deposit for Payroll on Quickbooks Desktop

Hey there, @cypressroofer

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

To best assist with this error message, can you share a screenshot of it? This way, I can have a visual reference to know exactly what's going on. Additionally, do you mind answering a few questions to narrow this down a bit?

  • Are you the only user affected?
  • Are you signed in as the Admin user?
  • Does this happen to all computers?
  • Are you on the host computer?

In the meantime, let's try some troubleshooting to clear the error and activate your payroll services. I recommend repairing your QuickBooks. I've included the steps below to do this.

  1. If you haven't already, back up your company file.
  2. Restart your computer. Restarting the computer will ensure there are no programs that will affect the repair.
  3. Open the Windows Start menu, then click Control Panel.
  4. Select Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.
  5. Click on QuickBooks from the list of Programs, then Uninstall/Change.
  6. Hit Continue, or Next.
  7. Select Repair, then Next.
  8. Once the repair is completed, click Finish.
  9. Update your QuickBooks to the latest release. This will ensure you have the most recent fixes and security updates.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response. Let me know if you have further questions or concerns. You can reach out to the Community at any time. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!

Hello there, @rsthbc.

Currently, this is an open investigation posted for this error. However, our engineers have posted a workaround to remove the error message.

Here's how:

  1. Switch Internet Explorer as a default browser and add these trusted sites *.intuit.com and *.intuit.net.
  2. Then, open QuickBooks as admin.
  3. Right-click on the QuickBooks icon and choose  Run as Administrator.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting support to be added to the list of affected users. Once added to the list, you will then get email updates on the open investigation.

Here's how to contact our support team:

  1. Sign in to your company account, then click Help.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Hit Contact Us
  4. Enter the question in the description field, then click Search
  5. Select either Start messaging or Get a callback.

Please check out our support hours to ensure that we address your concerns on time.
