Greetings, traci2.

I'm dropping in to share some information about the W-2 form printing options.

After some thorough research, our Product Development Team is hard at work including the 3 part printing option for the W-2 forms. We're doing everything we can to meet our goal to add this option within this week.

Rest assured, I'll be keeping an eye out for any progress that they'll make and notify you about it to keep you updated.

Don't hesitate to keep in touch with me here in the Community, should you need more help or if you have any other questions. I want to make sure you're taken care of.

Why are they doing this when the option was already there, it seems, last year?

We appreciate you for joining this thread, BRC.

Yes, you're correct the 3 part printing was once available last year. However, this has been temporarily removed when the IRS requires QuickBooks to use the 4 part printing. As what my colleague mentioned, our engineers are already working on implementing this feature soon.

We'll also be updating this thread once we receive updates from our product engineers.

Feel free to visit us again for any questions. It would be my pleasure to help.

It's Friday afternoon on the week of 01/07/19, I've changed the settings to 3-up and I'm still getting the 4-up format.  Intuit, this is pretty insane.

I bought a 100 pk  of 3-up  W2s and 50 envelopes from your supply store last January with the thought of, "Hey, I'll have enough left over for next year's W2s!" Then I joked to my shop manager, "Watch, they'll change the format next year so I have to buy new forms."

And people wonder why I'm cynical ...

Hello fellow IRATE pro advisors,

As of Friday, 1/11/19, we can print 3 up. Our complaining worked!!!!! You have to go to the gear icon, payroll settings, form printing, then change to 3 up.

QBO, I am still mad. I was up until 3 am working on my hundreds of W2s. I had my month planned out. My 675 W2s were to be delivered on 1/11/19. I didn't want to start them then.

Another disappointment is that the W2s are not in alphabetical order. It was really fun putting my large client's 275 W2s in order. How about next year you don't do this to us.

Hello everyone.

As what lindsaydavis44 mentioned, you can now print 3-up W2s.

For W2s not printing in alphabetical order, this is already a reported issue. Our engineers are still gathering details for their investigation. Please give us a quick call to add you to the list ( the steps to reach us is found in Angelyn_T's post.)

If there's anything else we can help. Please let us know.

I have been waiting for 6 weeks or so for the contractor list to be fixed for alphabetical order as  well. I have a client I have to sift through 90 names to pay them and it waste my time looking for them. It is no acceptable or understandable why this isn't fixed.

Hi there, @ksternaccounting.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Allow me to help share some updates about the List of Contractors on the payday screen that is not showing in alphabetical order.

First of all, I want to thank you for your patience while our engineers are working on the resolution of this unexpected behavior. We don’t have the exact time when it’ll be fixed but rest assured they’re continuing to investigate the cause so they can come up with the fix.

We’ll definitely keep you posted once they'll cascade the resolution for this. Please make sure to reach out to our Phone Support, they can add you to our affected user's lists. This way, they'll also sign you up to receive email updates as soon as they become available.

Feel free to get back in this thread if you have any other questions about QuickBooks Online. I'll be happy to help you out.

It is the 15th now and still NO 3-up printing available.  WHAT IS QBO DOING?

I appreciate you for following this thread, Frustratedwithlackofoptions.

As of the moment, we don't have a definite time as to when will the 3-up printing option for W2 be available. We'll be sure to continue providing updates as soon as we receive progress about this request.

If you haven't called our QuickBooks Support Team, I suggest doing so. This will help us send you updates of this request via email. You can contact us through the steps provided by my colleagues above.

Your patience is highly appreciated. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with as I'm always here to help.

It's still not working for me.  I've gone to the Gear, selected the 3 Up processing option but the form is still appearing as 4-up.  I even tried clearing my cache in case that was creating a problem.

Hi there, HBoswell.

Welcome to the Community. It would be my pleasure to help you get the support you need to print 3-part perforated paper successfully in QuickBooks Online.

Since you already tried clearing your cache and still unable to print on a 3-part perforated paper, I recommend giving us a call this time. One of our Phone Support Specialist will need to pull up your account and perform additional troubleshooting to fix the printing issue.

I'm adding an article that I recommend for you to reach them (you can dial the number next to QuickBooks Online Payroll):

https://payroll.intuit.com/support/contact/?infosrc=qs&service=64.

Please reach out to me here should you need any additional assistance. The Community is on a lookout for your response.
