Can I re-export payroll transactions? I tried to export as usual, got a message "something went wrong" and now the program tells me there are no new transactions.

The data never made it into my quickbooks desktop. Can someone tell me how to force the program to export?

I've got your back to help you get past the error message and ensure you can re-export your payroll transactions, @tmyers1.

To start, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this. There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes some errors or unusual responses. Let's start accessing your account using a different or a private browser. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

Then, export your payroll data. Once you successfully do the process, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks Online. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

When the page shows No new transactions to export, let's do the following steps below as an alternative to reach your goal.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Employees tab.
  3. Under Run Payroll, select the Paycheck list button in blue.
  4. Put a checkmark beside the checks. Then, the Export to accounting button will appear.

We are experience the same problem. We cleared cache and tried it on several platforms with no success. In the past we could always re-export but no longer can.

Exporting features definitely not working as they should be.

We have also tried to to Re-Export from the payroll list. It seems like it is set up to allow this, but when you hit the button to re-export, it simply does not this do it. Again, we have confirmed that it is not a cache or platform issue on our side.

I have this same problem exporting payroll transactions - I get an error message. I attached a screenshot of what I see, I have tried an incognito window and different browsers also. The payroll export has worked for months but about a month ago I keep getting this error each time I try to export. Thanks!
