A service code is a unique identifier that TurboTax specialists provide to customers for specific situations, typically to offer a discount on the TurboTax Online fee. Unlike general coupons, service codes are not available to everyone and are not reusable. Therefore, it's important to note that each TurboTax Online tax return can only accept one service code, which is single-use.
Hence, If you need a service code or assistance related to it, contacting the TurboTax Customer Care Team is the best course of action. To do this:
- Sign into your TurboTax account and type Contact Us in the Search bar.
- Choose the Contact Us button from the results
- Select the pencil icon to enter your question and select Talk to Human.
- Click the Get a Call and submit your request.
It's important to remember that service codes are provided for specific reasons and situations and are not intended to be general coupons. Therefore, it's important to follow the instructions given by the TurboTax specialists to ensure that the code is used correctly and to its full potential.
Here's where you need to enter it once you have it:
- Sign in to your TurboTax account.
- Open or continue your return if you haven't already done so. Please ensure you have already sent your QuickBooks Self-Employed data to file them accordingly.
- Go to File from the menu.
- The following screen has a list of all your fees. Find and choose I have a service code.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your service code, then Continue.
