Deleting my message. Sorry, posted to the wrong thread. But I do agree with the OP. QB has gone from "a great product" to "AVOID if you can." I've been a user since 90s and can no longer recommend it.
I just updated from QB Desktop Premier 2019 to QB online 2022 yesterday, 6/29/2022. YES! Online is pretty bad. Very glitchy. Missing important features. Well should I say, these features are there, but there is no way to navigate to them, you need to do a global search -- for example. Creating custom invoice templates. There is no way to navigate to this area. You need to search for Custom Form Styles. Then after you make a new invoice template, and you create a customer invoice, there is no way to specify that you want the invoice to use the new template.
Today I was in the middle of creating a long invoice, which I saved. Then I get the message "Something's not working. Try refreshing the page and check back." Even though I saved it, when I opened it back up, everything was gone. OMGGGG.
Desktop version was soooo much better.
I'm a long time Desktop version user who is really frustrated and angry at Intuit about discontinuing Desktop and forcing users to the cloud. The reason is of course money. I used to spend about $250 for the desktop version and updated every 3 years, due to bank feed feature being shut off forcing update. OK, so that's about $80/year. Now I'd have to pay $80/mo for a plus subscription, that's more than 10x more expensive and I don't want to use the cloud version. But from Intuit's perspective this is still a brilliant business move, even if they lose half of their users, they still make 500% more revenue! What a windfall. Which makes it even more infuriating. I refuse to submit, looking for alternative options.

Is your company located in UK? They just discontinued QBD UK version and you can still use US or CA version. Unless you're using QBD Enterprise, there's no viable replacement for QBD Pro/Premier/Mac. Every company prefers to develop cloud based apps now.
Thank You so much for your post. After using QB desk top for over a decade , I made a fatal error by going to the cloud! Worst Business decision I've ever made in 45 years !!! I am dumping QB and anything that has to do with Intuit.

I have been using QB and Bank of America Direct Connect for years. I used to buy the desktop version for $200 and it would be supported for 3 years. Now it's $250 PER YEAR. Since I have been using it for so long and I don't have time to look for another program I paid for it. However, now I get an email that they will no longer be supporting Direct Connect, but will have a new, "better" system. But I won't be able to pay bills through QB anymore (How is this better?), but will have to sign up for a third party, Melio. I looked up Melio, and it turns out that they charge $1.50 per check that goes through the mail. I AM NOT PAYING THIS INSANE AMOUNT JUST TO PAY MY BILLS. I am looking for another accounting program. Quickbooks SUCKS
Yes, they suck. I think there is a big need for a new program that integrates accounting, bill pay (through any bank) and serves as a central location to receive all bills: Paypal, email, venmo etc. I'm surprised that it doesn't exist. Plus it's a way to track peoples' actual spending patterns (data mining).. I'm in Massachusetts, where there are a lot of tech startups. I'm going to start talking to techies I know about possibly starting such a company. I'm so sick of Quickbooks. They need serious competition. I'm probably going to look to VC, but this may be a fun crowdsource company.
It is the worst service I have attempted to incorporate into my business practice in over a decade. Extremely hard to use and remote CS reps who really don't care and have no authority to act. Every reply is automated/scripted and very few CS reps (If you can break through the computerized answering service) I have encountered could walk me through what I needed. Finally cancelled and actually got a thinking person on the phone yesterday who could see the history and agreed to a two month credit. OK I'm the dummy for not cancelling sooner, so happy with any break at this point. Then last night get this automated letter overruling what your company representative decided yesterday. Plus today had to deal with a completely incompetent home based worker. UGGG! Now that I have read all the complaints I can see I am not alone either.
Hi. I have a specific question regarding the updated bank connection process, specifically for Chase. FYI, I'm using Enterprise 20 with Windows 11 and need to update the financial institutions directory.
I found another conversation in the Intuit community which gives the steps for dealing with this issue in Windows 8 and Windows 10, but not Windows 11.
When I look at the Participating Financial Institutions list in the Banking menu specifically, it does in fact list the one that I'm looking for, "Chase Bank (ALL) - New". However, when I go to connect my accounts in the Bank Feeds area, that same bank is not available. I've tried the other "Chase" options that show up, and none of them work, as expected. I know from researching that I need to use the "Chase Bank ALL - New" option, but can't get it to show up in the setup/connect accounts area.
Hi there, @kevinjharris1.
It seems like a duplicate post. My colleague has shared some troubleshooting steps to help fix your issue. You may refer to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/banking/updating-financial-institutions-directory-...
Feel free to reach out to us again if you need more help. Have a good one!
They took over Tsheets and totally ruined it. I have been trying to fix the sync issue for 3 days now.
They also broke my connection to Chase Bank. No help again.
Support sucks beyond belief. They used to be good. If you are lucky enough to get someone that speaks english they usually do not know anything or tell you to talk to someone else from India.
There are so many bugs in the software now that it is hard for me to understand how they are still operating.
I have been a user since 1998.
I am switching next year to Netsuite or Patriot Software since this year has been costing be a huge amount on the bottom line due to these failures.
Try Patiot or NetSuite. That is where we are going after 24 years with Intuit.
I think QB sucks. They're trying to move everyone to a subscription plan. In my case, the script is $1,000 per year. I own a fully functioning version of QB desktop, so I really have no reason to convert over. That is I didn't have a reason, UNTIL this month, when QB created a reason. QB removed my Bill Pay functionality (via Bank Feeds) and stated that I'd have to upgrade from 2021 which I purchased in March 2021 to QB2022 to have Bank Feed/Bill Pay functionality reinstated. The cost to upgrade? Yep, $1000. QB is slimy, slimy, slimy. They will never see another $$$$ from me. I'm converting over to Xero.

and Xero only offers subscription plans. Purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data if required.
A forum is not support- this is supposed to be enterprise software that people pay a not insignificant amount of money for- support should be at the very least seven days a week. To say, oh, you have problem with our software? Go these forums and ask some random person who may be wholly unqualified to speak on whatever topic it is that they're speaking on.
Yes I do. It is an ancient, bug ridden software, which they milk to death. As long as they are enough fools, who buy it they will merrily keep on selling it.
They still did not notice that there is such thing as an ATM card, or ACH payment transactions. You have to enter any ATM transactions as checks. Any returns of merchandise you bought with an ATM card have to be booked as a deposit. Report writer is non-existent. Those provided reports are useless. You cannot write a a SQL query to get data that your want. Now, they removed the image acquisition software from the desktop package without any warning. The 2022 version is terrible, a step back in the ancient times. In the 2022 you can no longer scan the invoices, receipts and contracts at the same time you enter a transaction. It was clunky before, but now you cannot even do it. Do not install it, it has fewer features and more bugs and they make you pay for it!!!!!
Today, without any prior warning I received a message that our software will stop working in a week unless we pay for annual support. What support? It is so bad that we never bother to call them..
Anyone has any idea what accounting software I can get in a hurry to replace this crap? We are a small company a could not afford the big accounting packages prices.

Login to your CAMPS. When will your subscription be due?
You may consider switching to a cloud based accounting app. How many user do you have?
Quickbooks Desktop 2021 has become almost unusable. First all my bank feeds were disconnected. Then after reconnecting them to my bank accounts, bill pay through my bank is no longer supported. Now the bank feeds have permanently disconnected and a language challenged support can not provide any solutions. Quickbooks has degraded to offline processing only and manually matching all transactions to a printed bank statement. It can't get any worse. What a shame.
I wish I could make it better, ViloGroup.
I know this functionality to use online banking in QuickBooks Desktop 2021 would be beneficial to your business. I'd recommend sending feedback directly to our Product Development team. This helps us improve your experience and the features of the program.
Here's how:
For your visual reference, I've attached some screenshots below.
Additionally, I've added an article to help you review your bank transactions and put them into the correct accounts: Add and Match Bank Feed Transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
I appreciate you for sharing your thoughts with us. Please know that we're determined to improve the program. Keep safe always!
sure do...so may glitches you can't actually run your business efficiently...does'nt like working with chrome browser either
Yep, its absolutely shocking.
I’m thinking of switching from QB Desktop to QB Online and wanted to find out if the migration process will transfer the attached documents and emails. No one at Intuit seems to know. The reality is they know but won’t say. Intuit is deliberately deceptive and represents everything that is wrong with big tech firms. I would love to see the government crack down on these idiots.
You need to purchase a 3rd party service to convert data with attachments, non-posting transactions (estimates, purchase orders), or jobs/class to QBO or other accounting apps.
Yes its the absolute worst functioning website I have ever used
