Join nowHas mileage tracking been removed from the QuickBooks online mobile app for Android? I am running version 25.21.7+5 and I no longer have option to manage mileage.
Welcome to the Community space, morgan-themorga.
I've checked my QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app and verified that you have the updated version of the app in which I was able to manage the Mileage tracking.
In your case, to isolate the issue when QuickBooks has unexpected behavior, let's try resetting the app data to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state. Here's how:
Once done, try to check if you're now able to manage the Mileage tracking. If the issue persists, let's try to uninstall then reinstall the app. Then, restart your mobile.
In the meantime, to know more about how the Mileage tracking feature works, see this article:
Please let me know how it goes. I want to ensure this gets resolved for you. Stay safe and have a great day!
Tried refreshing data and uninstalling/reinstalling app. I still am missing mileage option.
I tried refreshing data and reinstalling and I do not have the mileage option.
I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've tried, cmorgan-themorga. I can help you figure this out.
You'll want to ensure that you've selected the appropriate permission for your location tracking. This way, you'll have the mileage option in your mobile app.
If you're tracking mileage in IOS, you can go to your phone settings then set the phone's location permissions to "Always." If it's an Android, go to your phone settings and set the phone’s location permissions to “Allow all the time." And physical permission to "Allow."
Also, you'll want to try checking via the browser log in if the Mileage tab appears. If you do, you may consider entering your mileage from there.
However, if you're getting the same results, I would suggest, reaching out to our phone support team so they can further investigate this unexpected behavior and troubleshoot the issue for you.
I'll be right here if you have any additional questions while working with your account. I'll be happy to help.
I am going to have to reach out to the phone support team for a solution. I tried all the troubleshooting ideas posted and nothing has returned the mileage tab to my phone. It is available online; however, this option is less convenient.
Was this resolved? I just upgraded from Samsung S20 to Pixel 7, and now my QBO app has no option for mileage tracking.
Hi there, mic911.
Let me make it up to you by ensuring you'll be able to see the option for mileage tracking in QuickBooks App.
To start, let's make sure your QuickBooks App is updated. There are times when the QuickBooks Online app has a lot of data which may cause missing mileage tracking. Resetting the app to clear the cache and refresh it into its default state can fix this unusual behavior.
Here's how:
Then, ensure to review the appropriate permission for your location tracking. You can set it to Allow all the time. For the most accurate trip tracking, also set physical activity permission to Allow.
Once done, you can check the mileage button. If the issue persists, I'd suggest uninstalling the application and reinstalling it. This is done to start using the app on a clean slate.
In addition, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team if none of the troubleshooting steps work for you. They also have the tools to access your account in a secure environment and help with this.
I've added, are some resources that you can read to help monitor and manage your business miles and vehicle expenses in the program:
The community is always open if you have other questions about managing mileage. I'll be around to help. Wishing you a great day ahead.
Thanks @LeizylM - Refreshing the data did the trick with bringing back the mileage button. I also updated the app in Play store and then had to go through after the mileage settings appeared, and enable everything that had the "!" beside it.
Thanks for the fix.
Paul
