How can I cancel a pending tax payment?

If you're trying to cancel an electronic payroll tax payment that has not been processed yet or is manually recorded, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to Taxes Payroll tax.
  2. Under Taxes, click the View tax payments you have made link.
  3. Select the name of the tax payment. Change the date range if necessary.
  4. From the View and Print Form drop-down, choose Delete
  5. Hit Yes to confirm deletion.

Otherwise, contact our Customer Care Team if you don't see the delete option. They can pull up your account and check the status of the tax payment.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start a chat or Call us.

If you have the new QuickBooks Assistant help update, you can follow these steps:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online account, go to the Help > Assistant.
  2. Type Talk to a human and proceed with I still need a human.
  3. Click the Contact us link.
  4. Select either Messaging or Callback.

How can I cancel a pending tax payment?

Hello there, Bdavidson1955. I can see the importance of getting this done now. 

 

Are you using Intuit Online Payroll? If so, deleting the tax payments depends on the scenario. Let's see the different situations below.

 

If  these tax payments haven't approved yet, you can delete it by utilizing the button. Here's how:

 

  1. Select Taxes & Forms.
  2. Then select Pay Taxes
  3. Select Approve.
  4. On the Approve Payment page, find the payment.
  5. In the Delete column, select X.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.

 

On the other hand, if you've paid the taxes manually and you have approved the payment, you can run the Employer Reports to completely delete the payments. The steps below will guide you through the process.

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Then select Employer Reports.
  3. From the drop-down, select Tax Payments
  4. Then select Go.
  5. Go to the Payment Date column and select the date of the payment.
  6. Hit Delete. Then, Yes to confirm.

 

For additional assistance, you can give us a short call to check your payroll account. We'll be able to provide information and help remove the tax payments. Here's how:

 

  1. Open the IOP sample file.
  2. Choose your state.
  3. Click the Help option in the upper-right corner.

Hello,

 

I need help please. I spoke to a human yesterday but they weren't able to help me. I need to update our bank account info because we changed banks, but they told me I can't because of this, (in the photo) So now I can't pay employees direct deposits or anything. Please help!!!!!

In changing the payroll bank account, one of the things you need to ensure is to check pending tax payments. This is important to be sure your bank account change is successful and the payroll funds withdraw from the correct account.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
