How do I retroactively add a raise to my employees paycheck in QuickBooks online?

Good day, @warhorsedevelopm.

Adding a raise to employee’s paychecks retroactively is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, you can set up an additional payment type under each profile and include it to their next payroll with the total increase accumulated.

Here’s how:

  1. From the Workers menu, select Employees.
  2. Pick an employee from the list that received a raise.
  3. In the Edit employee details window, click + Add additional pay types (like overtime, sick, and vacation pay).
  4. Mark Other Earnings, then edit the name to Accumulated Raise
  5. Hit Done to save the changes.

Please follow the same steps to add this additional pay type to the rest of the employees who received an increase. Take a look at this article for the details: Add or Change Pay Types in Online Payroll.

You need to manually calculate the total amount for each employee and enter it on their next paycheck. Here’s a screenshot for visual reference:

I’m adding this article to serve as your guide when running payroll: Create paychecks in Online Payroll.

I've included an article about creating paychecks in QuickBooks Online. This serves as a guide when running payroll.

Additionally, you may also want to consider printing your checks and paystubs. Doing so helps you have a handy copy of them.
