how to set up direct deposit in a credit union

Thanks for reaching out to us, holly57.

Yes, you can definitely use that as long as it's a United States account that accepts ACH transactions. To get started, you'll have to prepare the following information:

  • Business name, address, and EIN
  • Principal officer social security number, birth date, and home address
  • Online banking credentials or bank routing and account numbers

Next, sign to your QuickBooks company as an admin to connect your bank account. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Employees menu,
  2. Choose My Payroll Service, then select Activate Direct Deposit.
  3. Click Get Started, then hit Start on the Business tab and fill in the necessary details.
  4. Select Next, then enter the principal officer informaton.
  5. Choose Next again, then click Add new bank account.
  6. Enter the name of your bank and follow the on-screen instruction, then choose Next.
  7. Select Accept and Submit, then confirm the Principal officer’s full social security number if prompted.
  8. When you're done, click Submit.

After that, follow the remaining steps in this article to be guided in verifying your bank account and adding your employees’ banking information: Set up your company payroll for direct deposit.

I'm also adding these references to learn how to pay your employees with direct deposit:
