HR assist with Mineral platform on Quick books

I have an HR person who I have given PR manager access to on QB online.  She can access the payroll portion but cannot access HR assist or the Mineral portion of the HR module.  Mineral can't help and QB staff is totally unaware of this module and keeps telling me I have to give them standard access which seems inappropriate as we will need to send out invites to employees to see various webinars and they just need to be registered to view the webinar not our QB.  Anyone else dealing with this?  I have called various QB help line and asked for call backs but no one can help me other than tell me PR manager access isn't sufficient.  I do need some answers if anyone has them.  Thank you in advance.

HR assist with Mineral platform on Quick books

I am having a problem giving access to our HR manager to HR assist and Mineral

She had PR manager user but is being blocked to access the mineral platform

I have been on line with several QB tech most of whom know nothing about this platform with no luck

As the accountant/bookkeeper I have complete access. What do I need to do to give this person complete PR access including HR assist and Mineral access?

I understand that going back and forth can be inconvenient for you, @iwarner33133. I will ensure that your HR manager has complete access to Payroll, including HR assistance, and Mineral access.

To resolve this situation, you can remove the HR manager's user access from QuickBooks completely. This will reset any settings or permissions that might be causing the issue.

Once the access is removed, we can reinvite the HR manager. Just select the appropriate access level and permissions during the process and ensure the HR assist and mineral are included. I'll show you how:

To remove her as a user, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Manage Users.
  2. Select the ellipsis icon on the user you want to delete, then select Delete.
  3. Select Delete user from the pop-up window to confirm.

To reinvite her, here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon ⚙ and select Manage Users.
  2. Go to the Users tab and click on Add User.
  3. Enter the user’s First name, Last name, and Email.
  4. Choose View all permissions from the Roles dropdown, then assign the custom permissions that you want to assign to your HR manager.
  5. Review the permissions, then select Send invitation.
  6. You’ll be asked to Create a custom role since you have used custom permissions.
  7. Enter the Custom role name and Role description.
  8. Choose Save role.

For detailed instructions about the steps, see this link: Add and manage custom roles.

Once the HR manager has been reinvited, have them attempt to access HR Assist and Mineral again.

If the problem persists after reinviting the user, I recommend contacting QuickBooks support once more. Explain the steps you've taken, including removing and reinviting the user, and describe the ongoing access issue. They can provide additional troubleshooting steps for this.

Additionally, I've included some resources that explain how Human Resources Services powered by Mineral Inc. works in QuickBooks Online Payroll: Use Human Resources Services in QuickBooks Online Payroll

Should you have any further concerns about managing user roles and access rights in QuickBooks, please don't hesitate to post here. I'm always happy to assist you. Have a great day!

I don't have the ability to edit the roles when I try to do this. I also have an HR Manager that only needs access to Mineral.

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, AliB2. I'll share additional insights about how the Human Resources (HR) access works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, there's no integrated way to have a specific user that only needs to access Mineral. If you have added your HR at least as payroll manager, they can access the HR Support Center or HR Advisor, depending on your payroll subscription. This way, you can quickly get compliance information, hiring best practices, employees, handbooks, and more. You can follow the steps below to do so:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then pick HR Advisor (Take me there).
  2. Select any of the topics.
  3. Click any sub-topics or select Search more, and you’ll be directed to Mineral’s HR Support Center to access many other HR-related topics.

For other tools available in the HR Support Center, refer to this article: Use Human Resources Services in QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium and Elite.

I'm always around and ready to help if you have more questions about HR managers' access in QBO. Have a great day ahead!

I also tried to get access to Mineral for an employee / owner with QBO permissions. It seems that full payroll permissions do not grant access to Mineral and creating a user inside of Mineral has limited functionality. There is only a single option, that of "employee" inside Mineral and this does basically nothing. Mineral support (slowly) confirmed that was the case.

Not a well thought-out integration from Intuit.
