I can't efile my 941 - it says I need to update my payroll module but I've done that over and over.

Us too!  Exact same 941 e-file issue today with QB 2023.  Has worked for many years.  State form e-filed fine.  Resettng the QB/payroll updates and verify/rebuild data did NOT help.

This problem is definately on QB end.  Please provide an update to fix this asap...30 days left to e-file 941 Q3.

SAME!! this is infuriating. this only happened on the last payroll update. I've updated, restarted, run QB as admin and updated again. no joy. it still gives this stupid error. FIX THIS!!

I can confirm that this issue is also occurring with me. As of this post, I cannot file tax forms, even after updating payroll or running in administrator mode.

Edit: Called up Quickbooks. Was told it was a backend issue and they expect a fix in 24 hours.

I also tried many times on Sunday to efile my 941. I received the same error message and updated the payroll many times as well. It continues to be an issue today.  It's very frustrating to say the least.

QB fixed their issue, e-filed successfully.

Yes, our firm is having the same issue and need to efile several.  It is very frustrating when no changes for this 3rd quarter have been made.  Please let us know when the Intuit team has this payroll update resolved!

I was able to e-file my return as well.

We recognize the urgency in getting this resolved when filing 941 forms electronically, @hmiller77.

Currently, the investigation status of this concern has already been resolved and is working effectively for all other users. Since the issue persists on your end, we can manually print and file your 941 form through the federal portal as a workaround. This way, you can submit your federal taxes on time.

With this, we also recommend contacting our Customer Care Team again to further review and investigate your account so you can successfully e-file your federal tax forms. They can provide timely assistance to ensure these forms are seamlessly submitted.

Here's how to reach them:

1. Go to the Help menu and click QuickBooks Help.
2. Select Contact Us.
3. Enter the investigation number as the description and click Continue.
4. Log in to your Intuit account, select Continue, then Continue with my account.
5. Enter the single-use code you received in your email and click Continue.
