I have a BofA account with a credit card and then a corporate card in the same BofA account but when I link my bank account the corporate card does not show up?

The corporate card does show up but it’s showing the same last 4 digits as the regular CC so when I go to link it Quico books is showing me the notification that it’s already linked ..

Welcome and thanks for posting your first concern today, @devin-devinandaa. It seems like your connecting a sub-account. Hence, it wouldn't allow you to connect your corporate account.

In QuickBooks, when your bank or credit card account has sub-accounts, you'll only need to link the account where the bank sends most of the transactions.

Then, you only need to reconcile the parent account when it's time for reconciliation.

You'll want to create a parent account, then have each card set up underneath as a subaccount. Here's how to create a sub-account:

  1. Go to the Chart of Accounts menu, then click the New button.
  2. Choose the account type and detail type, then choose Is sub-account and enter the parent account.
  3. Enter a name for the subaccount. You can also add a description.
  4. Select When do you want to start tracking your finances from this account in the QuickBooks option.
  5. Select Save and Close.

Thanks! When I go to add an account it just asks me to link a bank account. Doesn’t give me the option for sub-account. Do you have to do that from a desktop ? App doesn’t work?

Hi thanks! Does the app give you this option to you have to do it from a desktop?

On the app I can’t find these options, it only gives me the option to add a bank account.

Thanks for getting back to us, devin-devinandaa.

Adding a sub-account is unavailable since the QuickBooks Online Desktop Application is no longer supported. As a way around, I'd suggest logging into your account via a web browser and adding the sub-account from there.

Here's how to add a sub-account:

  1. Click Accounting in the left panel and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. From the Chart of Accounts screen, click New.
  3. Choose the Account and Detail Type.
  4. Enter the name of the account in the Name field.
  5. Mark the box for Is sub-account.
  6. Click on Save and Close.

Hi,

There is no "accounting" on the left side bar of my Quickbooks so I cannot find this. Is there a phone number I can call to walk me through this? Thanks

I'll help you set your account so you can proceed to use the Accounting tab, @devin-devinandaa.

One reason why the Accounting tab is unavailable on your end is due to the account being new. You'll have to switch to the Accountant view to use this tab. To do that, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Below the Profile column, click the Switch to Accountant view.

For visual reference, you can refer to the screenshot below:

Once you've switched to the Accountant view, this is what your QuickBooks Online Interface looks like.

You'll notice that there are a lot of tabs showing up on your left navigational bar. You'll also see the Accounting tab that you've been looking for.
