I need to change hours on a payroll that is ready to be submitted. How do I go back to change the hours when I'm at this point?

1. Close the window at the end with the option to send payroll.

2. Find and edit the paycheck.

3. Pick the option to send payroll from the payroll center or the Employees menu.

It's my priority that you can change the paycheck hours before submitting it to Intuit, crosscreeksandwi.

You can close the Review and Create Paychecks window, then edit the paycheck before sending it through Direct Deposit (DD). This way, you can update the correct hours before you submit the payroll online.

Here's how you can edit it:

  1. Click Employees on the top menu.
  2. Choose Edit/Void Paycheck.
  3. Select the paycheck you'll need to change the hours.
  4. Hit the Edit button below.
  5. Tick the Paycheck Detail tab in the Paycheck Summary section.
  6. Tap Unlock Net Pay and click OK.
  7. Enter the correct hours and hit the Lock Net Pay.
  8. Tap OK.
  9. Hit Save & Close.
  10. Click Yes to confirm.

Once done, send the DD paycheck in QuickBooks. For the steps and details, just check out this article: Send payroll and direct deposit paychecks in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. Then, go to To send Payroll to Intuit: section.
