Illinois I.D.E.S. AND QUARTERLY REPORT

In the 2nd quarter I started a retirement program 401 k type and roth. In reporting my I.D.E.S. The report added my company contribution to the payroll. Is this correct or did Quickbooks in helping me set this up use the wrong expense catagory causing the extra money get added. example of this My total payroll was $153k It showed that on 941. but on the IDES extra $4000. my 401 k contribution was added to total payroll

I appreciate you informing us that you're experiencing overcharges in your 401k contribution calculations, @conroy1. Let me discuss this in detail.

Calculations will depend on the tax tracking type used for your retirement plan. That said, it is used to associate with the deductions. I recommend consulting your accountant or tax advisor about what's the best tax tracking type to use.

In addition, you might want to check this article and learn how to run a Payroll Checkup: Run Payroll Checkup in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

Let me know if you have questions about tracking mileage in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

Thanks for the reply but to call support I will get the same answers I received the other day. It is my fault as I might have assigned wrong which is why I wrote here. I explained that I am a mechanic and Quickbooks is supposed to to give advice to me on how to handle. No one even knew what I was trying to explain.I still need to know how to handle with State of Illinois.
