Hello, Wailele.

Welcome to the Community.

Yes, you can pull up the Payroll Summary report that shows the employees' worked hours and weeks' term. To check the specific worked weeks, you'll need to customize the date. Let me guide you how:

1. In the QuickBooks homepage, click on Reports at the top menu bar.

2. Select Employees and Payroll.
3. Click on Payroll Summary.
4. Make the necessary customization by clicking on Customize Report.
5. Under Show Columns, select Employee. Make sure to customize the dates correctly from the start date of the employee.

6. Refresh the report.

Is there a report that shows hours worked by an employee by the weeks for a specified term? This is for a TDI claim?

this is great - but I need a report that shows me the number of pay periods an employee worked

When we were with Sage 50- the payroll reports would show me a report by employee, that had the pay period date in column 1 with the breakdown of their pay along the columns.  I could quickly reconcile their CPP that way.

Why? They get a CPP Exemption of $134.61 per pay - but they don't work all year.  I have to make sure that they paid enough CPP for the year.

They also get sporadic bonus, and the CPP deduction needs to be manually adjusted so that they DON'T get the CPP deduction on those cheques.

I'm looking for a report that will allow me to quickly see if I deducted enough CPP bi-weekly

any hopes of that?

OMG! I found one!!! I've asked this question over the years and could never get a straight answer!

Transactions by Payroll item - change Total by 2 week.

It's not a simple as I would like - but I'm working on it - hopefully I can perfect it and save as a memorized report.  Not really sure why this isn't a default report.  It's great info

If you know of a better way - please share!

Is there a way to show the hours only on this report? No wages.

Is there a way to show the hours only on this report? I need a report exactly like this but without wages.

Thank you.

Thanks for joining this discussion, @CL8801,

You may use the Payroll Summary report shared by ShallyMarR to get the information you need.

This report will show the hours worked by the employee and can be customized by date. To do that, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Reports menu and choose Employees & Payroll.
  2. Pick Payroll Summary from the list.
  3. On the report, update the Dates section with the period when you created the paychecks.
  4. Then, under Show Columns, use Employee.
  5. On the report, you will see the Hours column beside the total wages. If you need to remove the wages, export the report to Excel. Use the Excel drop-down at the top of the report then select Create New Worksheet.
  6. Tap Create new worksheet then Export.
  7. Make sure to enable Macros when in Excel to open the data. Then you can hide or delete the columns you don't want in there. See this:

If you need further assistance with modifying the report, please mention me anytime. I'll be more than glad to share additional insights with you. Have a nice day!

Is there a report that shows hours worked by an employee by the weeks for a specified term? This is for a TDI claim?

Hi! I've been searching for this too and found an easier way to get the data I'm looking for. Maybe it will work for you too?

Go to the Reports menu.
Click Jobs, Time & Mileage, then select Time by Name.
Set the date range.
Under Columns, I chose "week"

I then collapsed the rows to only get the weekly totals. (We have project data in there, you may not need to do that.)
Click Refresh.

I now have this set up as a memorized report.

Not sure if that works for your data or not, but thought I would share!

Is there a report that shows hours worked by an employee by the weeks for a specified term? This is for a TDI claim?

I found this way works the best for getting me the total hours worked in a week by pay period:

Go to the Reports menu.
Click Jobs, Time & Mileage, then select Time by Name.
Set the date range.
Under Columns, I chose "week".

I then hit the collapse rows button to only see the totals. (We have project data in there, you may not need to do this step.)
Click Refresh.

I have this set up as a memorized report and it's pretty quick. Hope that helps!

Good to see you here, AliciaD.

I can help you filter a report where you can select specific employees.

What specific report are you trying to run? It will help me walk you through the correct steps. If you're currently pulling up the suggested Jobs, Time & Mileage > Time by Name report here's how to filter it:

  1. Go to Reports and hover your mouse to Jobs, Time & Mileage
  2. Select Time by Name.
  3. From the menu, click Customize report.
  4. Under the Display section, filter the date range you want to run.
  5. Click the Filters tab and in the Choose Filter field, enter Name.
  6. From the drop-down, click Multiple names.
  7. Search for the employee's name and select it to add.
  8. Click OK and then OK to refresh the report.

To help you customize payroll and employee reports, you can click here.

For your next steps, you can visit this link on how to memorize reports in QuickBooks if you want the same settings of the customized report to be available for future use: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

Keep me posted on what report you're currently pulling up so I can help you filter it. I'm just a reply away so you can just mention me if you need anything else. Have a great day!

Your report just shows the total hours . I want a report for one employee that lists each pay period and the hours worked on each pay period. I do not want to just see the total. I need to see hours for each pay period for a year for 1 employee

You didn't answer the question. If an employee worked for a year--and had 26 paychecks--in order to see the hours I would have to run your report 26 times, each downloaded into excel and then totaled. I don't want to just see a total for that period. I want to see line by line, each payperiod's hours.

Hello there, @LORI3372. I appreciate you for joining here.

In QuickBooks Desktop, payroll reporting is based on Paychecks and Pay Date.

You can run the Payroll Summary report to see the time paid hours of your employees. You can click the amount to view all the paychecks of that particular employee. Here's how you can generate the report and make the necessary customization if needed.

  1. Go to Reports menu.
  2. Select Employees and Payroll.
  3. Click on Payroll Summary.
  4. Make the necessary customization by clicking on Customize Report.
  5. Make sure to customize the dates correctly from the start date of the employee.
  6. Refresh the report.

Still,  you can run the report shared by my colleague for the worked hours. The Timesheet reporting is based on Tasks by date entered for and time entered. You can customize how you want the report to works in displaying the hours. Here's how:

  1. Click the Customize Report button.
  2. Under the Display tab, click the Display columns by drop-down arrow. Then, select the appropriate option based on your employee's paycheck.
  3. Click OK.
