My client/vendor says his email from quickbooks has expired to be able to view his 1099-NEC that I sent out. How do I resend this link to view his 1099?

Let me help you access and resend 1099 to your contractor, @lance16.

You can resend the invite to your vendor for them to download the 1099-NEC form on their end. All you have to is send them a reminder.

Here's how:

  1. From the left panel, select Worker/Payroll and then choose Contractors
  2. You'll have to click each contractor's name to resend the 1099 Form.
  3. Click on the hyperlinked Send a reminder beside the contractor's name.

Confirm with your contractors if they were able to receive 1099 invites again.

This option to resend the email does not appear anywhere in our contractor's account. Is there another way to resend the invitation or fix this error?

I'll help with your concern about sending a link to view 1099, @t_stahl.

A browser issue may be causing this button not to show up when sending a link of your 1099 NEC to your client. You can perform some steps that can resolve common browser issues when doing tasks in QuickBooks Online.

First, use an incognito/private browsing session or a different browser. Follow these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito session:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari

You can also use another supported browser

If you're able to do that, proceed to delete cache and other saved data files within your browser. Here's an article as a guide: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.

You can also check out this article for your additional reading when sending 1099 forms: Send your contractor an email inviting them to fill out and submit W-9.

That’s it! Let me know if there's anything else you need with QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help you.

My client/vendor says his email from quickbooks has expired to be able to view his 1099-NEC that I sent out. How do I resend this link to view his 1099?

I am having a similar issue where our vendor says their invitation has expired, and I am unable to send a new invite or "reminder".  The link to send a reminder and I have tried all the steps you suggest including clearing cache and cookies, and using an Incognito browser window.  None of this worked.

There should be an easier way to re-send these 1099 invitations, and they should NOT expire so quickly!  How many contractors actually download their 1099s right away?  I only sent these out within the last ten days or so.

This needs to be fixed in QBO so that it is easy to resend the link to contractors.

Thanks for following this thread, Eileen_Hazel.

I appreciate following the solutions shared by my peers and sharing the results. I’m here to ensure you’ll be able to send a new invite or reminder to your vendor.

Since you’re unable to see the Send Reminder link, I recommend you get in touch with our QBO Care Team. One of our specialists will collate personal data to open an account.

They’ll review your vendor's profile and check the cause of the missing Send Reminder link. Once the permanent solution is available, our agents will guide you on how to apply the fix.

  1. Tap the Help icon at the top to open the Help screen.
  2. Then, choose the Assistant tab.
  3. Enter the issue in the Type something field. For example, contact support.
  4. Click the Get help from a human link.
  5. In What can we help you with? section, type a keyword or phrase in the box, and hit Continue.
  6. Pick how you wish to get in touch with our support team: Chat or Callback.

I’ve included some articles for future reference. These resources provide detailed information on how to view and check the filing status of your 1099-MISC.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. As always, I’m just a few clicks away for help. Have a good one.

I am having the same issue. There is also no "chat" option. It is "community" or "call back"

Nice to have you join in this thread, @BBChase.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) support options will vary on the kind of issue you’re having with. Thus, it could be the reason why there’s no chat option when contacting our support team.

With this, I recommend contacting our support team. You can follow the steps shared by my colleague Rasa-LilaM above and enter “chat” in the Type something filed. This way, the chat option will be available on your end.
