payroll import

I have a client who is considering Quickbooks Enterprise Desktop.

They are a company that employs approximately 300 people at any given time, and are looking to import the data necessary to create payroll checks, rather than entering the data manually during each payroll.  Is this something that can be done in Quickbooks Enterprise Desktop?  .

payroll import

I'm here to share insights about managing payroll data using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Enterprise, @debrombo1214.

When your client decided to use QBDT Enterprise, they can subscribe to QuickBooks Payroll Service to enable payroll features in the software. Then, import their employee list and manually input the necessary data for each of their profile. This way, they can run payroll and manage employee account accordingly.

Whenever they already have the file (i.e., IIF) to import their employee list, follow these steps:

  1. Make a backup of your client's QBDT company file for future use.
  2. Go to the File menu, then choose Utilities
  3. Select Import, then pick the appropriate type files.
  4. Click OK and follow the on-screen instructions. 80.PNG

To know the different ways to import info to QBDT, you can refer to this article: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, to further guide you about the basic workflows and tasks for working with QBDT, I'd recommend checking out these articles:

Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about importing data into the QBDT software and managing your client's payroll account, I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @debrombo1214.
