problem emailing

I use Quickbooks desktop and used to be able to e-mail check stub to employee.   Now it prompts for a password, which appears to be the organizations password, I put in the correct PW and the payroll program just keeps coming back to the same screen for e-mail password.   I'm able to print a pdf and manually mail, but the automatic e-mail from payroll program was much easier.   I've tried several options to fix but hasn't worked.

problem emailing

I can see the urgency in resolving this issue about emailing your pay stubs to your employees. @Mrbdfw. Let me share some information on fixing this.

When you notice that QuickBooks won't accept the password when you use email services like Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, you can perform the procedures below.

First, let's ensure you're using the latest version of QuickBooks Desktop. You can email a test transaction to yourself to check if the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, we can proceed with reviewing the email settings. You can follow the steps below for your email services.

Gmail

You can check your app preference since it may be blocking the connection to your Google account.

  1. Enable access for less secure apps.
  2. Also, consider setting access preferences for specific apps like QuickBooks.
  3. To ensure everything is working correctly, kindly return to QuickBooks and email yourself a test transaction.

You can also turn off the 2-Step Verification feature for your Gmail account if you still can't send emails.

Yahoo! Mail

Since Yahoo! Mail uses a 2-step Verification. You can go ahead and review your security settings.

  1. Open your Yahoo Account Security page.
  2. Turn on the Two-step verification and  Allow apps that use less secure sign-in features.
  3. Email yourself a test transaction by going back to QuickBooks.

If you're still having trouble sending emails, use Yahoo's generate third-party app passwords tool. It creates a random password you can use to connect QuickBooks. You only need to do this once.

You can check this article for more details: Fix webmail password issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Outlook

To resolve the issue of missing sending forms preferences in Outlook, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Verify if QuickBooks supports your Outlook.
  2. Set up the default email program.
  3. Edit the mail profile in Windows.
  4. Detect and repair in Outlook.
  5. Edit the WIN.INI file in Windows.
  6. Resolve with Microsoft.

In addition, if you're unable to send your email to Outlook, you can also follow these steps to help resolve your concern.

  1. Edit your admin privileges.
  2. Edit your email preferences in QuickBooks.
  3. Check your Internet Explorer email preferences.
  4. Repair your MAPI32.dll.
  5. Install QuickBooks again

You need a password from the email app you are using. For example the password that you get from aol when you set it up is the password you will use in quickbooks to send your invoices or estimates or whatever. Same thing for outlook

First follow the steps for quickbooks
