QB Entreprise: 2 Payroll Processors in the Company.

Hi,

In QB Desktop Enterprise, is there a way to have one person only some of the Employees setup in Payroll?

We are looking to hire a new Payroll person in our Company but want to have her only see the Payroll of our technicians (weekly pay), and not of our Executives (monthly pay).

So is there a way to setup that user to only have access to weekly pay schedule, and only see $$ figs linked to the weekly pay only?

Thank you

S

Glad to have you back, @SuzanneB1.

Our developers are always finding ways to improve the product and help you run your business easier. In line with that, they're adding features based on the preference received from our users.

I'll do my part and personally submit this request to our developers, so this will be assessed and addressed.

For now, I encourage you to visit the New Feature section on your QuickBooks, to stay current with the latest product news and improvements.

Here's how:

  1. Click on Help at the top menu bar.
  2. Select on New Features.
  3. Choose New Feature Tour.

To add up, I've included here a link that provides details about how to add, edit, and troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop user restrictions for your future reference: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions

I'm always up to help if there's anything else you need, Suzanne. Just reach out to me here, and well take it from there. Have a great night!

Hello, SuzanneB1,

Right now, you're unable to set up a user to only have access based on payroll schedules. Below are the only options you can modify under Employees & Payroll Role list:

  • Paychecks
  • Payroll Adjustments
  • Payroll Liabilities
  • Payroll Service Activities
  • Payroll Tax Forms

For additional guidance, please refer to the attached screenshot below.

To edit the role, please follow the steps listed below:

  1. Go to the Company menu, then select Users.
  2. Select the Role List tab.
  3. Choose a role, then click Edit.
  4. Highlight Employees & Payroll.
  5. Select an access from the Area and Activities section.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

You can also refer to this article: Create and manage roles in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to learn more on how to modify a role. It includes screenshots and detailed steps for your guidance.

If there's anything else you need, just leave a comment below. I'm happy to help you out.

I thought so but needed confirmation, so thank you for getting back to me.

Do you know if the developers at Intuit are working on providing this feature any time soon?

Thanks

Suzanne
