QB's Desktop Direct Deposit charges in 2024

Why in the world would QB's Desktop Enhanced Payroll direct deposit charge of $ 1.75 be increased to $ 4.00 in 2024?  That is just ridiculous-that is over 200% increase.  Is Intuit trying to push small business out?  I see that Intuit just cares about money and not the customer!!!!!!  I guess Intuit is just another business that has gotten too big to care.

Consider switching from Pro Plus + QBD Payroll to QBD Enterprise Gold if your total employees have passed the breakeven. Purchase the license through selected partners to get perpetual discounts for renewal.

What is even nicer, they have decided to raise annul subscription price form $ 685 last year to $ 850.00 this year. What is going to be different that there was that much of a price increase? any one have a new options to switch to? as these prices are getting just ridiculous.

Welcome to the Community, superiorservicel.

To verify my understanding, do you mean one employee clocking into multiple jobs or throughout the day?

Here's how to run a payroll report in QuickBooks Time:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, go to Time, Time reports, then Payroll.
  2. Specify the report dates and other filters as needed.
  3. Click Run report.
  4. To view details, hit Expand All or use your expand icon (+) next to each name.
  5. To print a report, press the printer icon at the top.
  6. Click the printer icon.
  7. Select Print.

I've also included a few detailed resources about working with QuickBooks Time which may come in handy moving forward:

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!

Consider yourself lucky.

My accountants enhanced payroll subscription went from $700 in 2023 to $1500 in 2024.

I received an email notice on this in November & called QB .The agent I spoke with said there will be a new accountants payroll subscription called legacy starting 12/1/23 (also my renewal date) . She advised to just cancel the old subscription & sign up for the new.

I called QB on 12/1  & was passed around from agent to agent for a total of 4 hours, restating my id#'s and verifying my subscription each time.  None of them except the 2nd to last had heard of this. She said it was available, but, alas she couldn't make the change .  She said she would finally forward my call to  the "correct" agent to make this change for me! The last agent said they had never heard of this either.  4 hours of my life  & $1500 I'll never get back ...

I'm hoping to find a different payroll subscription if any one has found one compatible with QB. I'd appreciate if they would post it.

Hi,

I am a bookkeeping service so I either produce payroll for some clients, or enter after-the-fact payroll for other clients.  Hence, the accountants version...

I recall agents asking more or less than 50 EIN's. I would fall in the less than 50 category ...

Agreed. We are seriously looking at pulling all clients out of QBO, Payroll, & Merchant and only use it for basic accounting/bookkeeping.

@mickleassociatespa

You can switch to QB Desktop with non subscription license.

They are trying to force companies to go to QBs online (which absolutely SUCKS)!  It take 3 times longer to do QBs online than it takes to do QBs desktop because your having to switch screens and waiting on updates.  They are not even offering desktop payroll to new QB desktop users any longer.  I quit taking on clients that had QBs online because they can't afford to pay me for the time it take me to to do what I can do in a 1/3 of the time on Desktop.

You can still purchase

QB Desktop 2024 Pro/Premier + QB Desktop Enhanced Payroll

QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise + QB Desktop Assisted Payroll

We have done the same thing. We basically told new & existing clients they must commit to leave QBO and use Desktop or we will drop them. Today, less than 2% of our clients are in QBO and those that are using it have until the end of 2024 to get out. In 2024 We are also looking at leaving Intuit as a payroll provider partner.

Yep!!! I'm also a bookkeeper and WILL NOT take on clients that use QBO. It's AWFUL!!!!!

Intuit is positioning themselves for competition to move in and take significant market share.

Oh please. That's nonsense in every facet of the word. Quickbooks does just fine without having to nickel and dime their accountants who make or break the company. Eventually the greed will collapse the monopoly of QB. For now, I'm left with no choice but to play ball. Why in the world is there a fee at all for direct deposit. It's irritating and obnoxious. So, the IRS and agencies are moving to forced electronic files which mean big savings for companies and we get charged to do so. I'll stop now. I could go on for pages about QB's injustices. Like I said, the end will come for a company that permeates greed and cares little about customer service.

I agree also they doubled their enhanced payroll fee from 787 to 1494.50 and still want you to pay for direct deposit.

@TNT 1

You have QBD Pro Plus + Enhanced Payroll ($550/year + $6/employee/month + Direct Deposit fee/employee), correct? Your renewal fees are as follows

Pro Plus = starts from $999 for single user

Enhanced Payroll = $700/year + $7/employee/month + Direct Deposit fee/employee

You should consider upgrading your data to QBD Enterprise Gold and purchase the new license via a partner to get 20% perpetual discounts on renewals. Your total cost will be lower than renew Pro Plus/Premier Plus + Enhanced Payroll.
