QBDT 2024 print payroll checks issues

We installed 2024 QkBks Desk top and now our payroll checks are cutting off at half way through the page.  No $ amount is in the payment amount on the check, plus anything else that would normally be on the right hand side of the page is missing.  Help!  This is only happening on 1 workstation.  Printer is HP Enterprise LaserJet M604.  We repaired, uninstalled and re-installed the print drivers.  QBKS support was no help.

Anybody know what to do?  In the meantime we are changing to print to a different printer in the office, but how annoying.  See attached example

Let me help you sort this out, Cathyspad.

You can use coarse and fine adjustments when setting up your printer to align with your paychecks. That being said, you can only use coarse adjustments if you are using checks, or forms purchased from Intuit. Other continuous-feed forms can't be adjusted using this method.

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Printer Setup.
  2. Select the form you want to print from the Form name drop-down arrow.
  3. Tap Continuous (Perforated Edge) from the Printer type drop-down arrow.
  4. Click Align, then choose a template to use.
  5. Once you’ve selected a template, select OK.
  6. Hit Coarse, then OK to print a sample form.
  7. Check the pointer line QuickBooks printed across the middle of the sample. Note the number closest to the arrow points. Enter this number in the Pointer Line Position field, and then select OK. QuickBooks might print another sample.
  8. Take note of the printer alignment position on the test form for future reference.

You can go through this article for more details: Fix print alignment of continuous-feed printers. You'll find steps on how to make fine alignments in this write-up.

I appreciate your effort in trying the steps to address the alignment issues with printing your payroll checks, Cathyspad.

I can share additional troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this problem.

Consider using the Print and PDF Repair tool. Here's how to accomplish the task:

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, navigate to Program Problems.
  2. Locate and select the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool option.
  3. Allow the tool to run, which typically takes around a minute.
  4. Once the repair tool has finished, attempt to print or save your documents as a PDF from QuickBooks Desktop again.

For more comprehensive information on resolving printing problems, I recommend this article: Fix printing issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Moreover, you can take advantage of the payroll reporting functionalities in QuickBooks. These reports empower you to handle payroll taxes and conveniently track employee expenses.

Please provide me with updates on the progress of the steps taken. It is important that you receive the necessary assistance with printing your paychecks. Take care and stay safe.

QBDT 2024 print payroll checks issues

Hi GlinetteC,

Thank you again for attempting to repair/fix my problem with printing issues.  Unfortunately, this did not work either.

Our IT guy came and tried different print drivers and one made an improvement.  Paychecks are printing properly, other reports are better but not 100%.  We now have to say how many pages wide we want the report to print on otherwise it prints to 1 page wide and is not legible.

It is a work in progress I guess.

Thank you!

QBDT 2024 print payroll checks issues

I am having issues too. 2024, premier accountant, won't print paystubs at all. Will email stubs or invoices just fine, but I click print and nothing happens. I have tried everything! And this is on only 1 PC and I have installed on several. Last year it was XPS issues. This doesn't seem like XPS because it generates PDF reports fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the whole thing many time, tool hub, windows updates reversals. Nothing is working
