is this still an issue? I am getting this message and can't create any invoices. I just converted from qb desktop 2022 to qb online this past weekend. please advise.
Upon checking on my end, I have not found any open investigations related to this error, @maggiesv. I understand the importance of being able to save your transactions, and I'm here to assist you in resolving this matter.
To start with, I recommend opening a private window to see if it's a browser issue. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Using a private browser prevents websites from using cookies and doesn’t record any history and data.
Here’s how to do the private browsing:
If you can finally save the invoices, it's safe to say that it's being caused by the browser. You can clear your browser's cache to refresh it. Click this link for the guide: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.
In the event it continues occurring while using incognito, you'll initially have to try switching to another browsing application. Here's a list of supported browsers:
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, we recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Online Support Experts for further assistance. They have the expertise to investigate the problem more thoroughly and provide you with a tailored solution.

This continues to be an issue - every time I try to save an invoice, that error appears. I have to hit save a second time for the error to disappear and to actually save the invoice.

Your browser's cache and cookies can sometimes cause issues with QuickBooks processes if they haven't been cleared for a while. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window.
Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:
For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:
For Firefox:
For Safari:
If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support so this issue will be investigated further.

This is clearly an issue with the software and not the browser. I tried incognito and the same issue appears. What I did find is that after entering the amount, if you tab over to the tax box it will save with one click. Historically I have arrowed down to the next line so that I could see the taxes calculated. This had always worked but does not now. My best guess is that the code changed and if you don't tab out of the amount box it thinks it is waiting on a tax amount to be calculated and if you arrow down to the next line it thinks the same.
Would be great if quickbooks had looked into the issue and hopefully fix this to streamline data entry.
I appreciate the time and effort you exerted to help fix this concern, Zeus. Let me ensure you'll get the best support available and keep you back to business seamlessly.

Same I can't stand QB online it has been a nightmare
same problem here now that they have the new invoice. QB should just post the solution as QB support takes forever and they almost never fix the issue as I am living with other issues for month that they cannot fix. Bring back the desktop version as it was way better!
Still an issue. Stop with the generic answers that dont fix anything. Issue after issue are posted in these forums and there is never a solutution, just BS apologies, fake sympothy, and work arounds that work on occasion. I can not wait to throw QBO into the garbage.

This has been going on for over 2 years. Its always the same thing, clear the browser. Well I'm fairly certain that we are past that point. How about you put out an update that actually fixes the problem instead of blaming everything besides some change you made. I know its on your end because at the exact same time, my out of state invoices tax calculations got screwed up. There is no more "automatic calculation" of taxes if out of state. You have to go in and change the customer to "out of state" or else it try's to collect taxes from them, even though I do not have the authority to collect them.
@iaff801 Imagine if every company had as much trouble with the cache as QBO does. Just an entire internet constantly getting bogged down.
Yech.
OCTOBER 5 Same problem for me too, the new invoice is not as nice by the way
