Thank you for jumping into this thread, James! I have some key updates about the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) mobile app that you’ll find valuable. I’ll guide you through the steps to reinstall it on your device, ensuring you can seamlessly get back to managing your work. Let’s dive into the details!
Please know that the QBSE mobile app has been sunsetted. Thus, the option to redownload it from the Play Store is no longer available. However, the Play Store application automatically saves previously installed apps, which you can re-install whenever deleted. Please see the Manage Apps & device section inside the Google Play Store app to get started. These are the steps:

I am also a current user of quick books self employed and was having issues with the app crashing on me for a week. I deleted the appt to try and reinstall and now I am not able to get it. I’ve prepaid for the year and seems unfair I’ve paid for something I am not able to use.
I loved the app and need a solution to this issue.
I hear you, Laura. Since you have already downloaded the QuickBooks Self Employed mobile app before, you can continue using it by redownloading it.
Starting from March 24, 2024, the QBSE mobile app is no longer available for download as it has been discontinued. However, existing users can still access and use the app. Here are the steps you can follow to redownload it:
For IOS:
For Android:
On the other hand, you can still access your QBSE account and all its features on your web browser.

Does QB Soloprenuer have the basic time-tracking capability that QBSE had? I don't need a separate app; I just need the same basic functionality of entering a New Time entry combined with an Invoice.
I've searched the comparison pages here on QB, but I couldn't find any mention of this capability. Did it stay, or did it go?
QuickBooks Solopreneurs streamlines bookkeeping and tax preparation for independent professionals, offering features such as invoicing, expense tracking, and mileage capture. However, it doesn't include a basic time-tracking feature, Interfx.
If you need time tracking linked to invoices and prefer not to use a separate app, consider switching from QBSE to one of the QuickBooks Online (QBO) plans, such as Essentials, Plus, or Advanced. These plans include basic time-tracking capabilities.
Alternatively, you can subscribe to QuickBooks Time, a separate service that integrates with QBO. Please note that an active QuickBooks Online plan is required to use this service.

Thanks for the reply. I clicked on "UPGRADE NOW" in my QBSE, and the browser window spins, but no page ever loads. Chrome, Safari, etc. Been spinning for 30 minutes now...
Frustrating...
How can I upgrade?
Hey inerfx,
Thanks for returning and letting us know. Let's try this in a private browser and let me know if you are experiencing the same issue. Here's how to open a private or incognito window:
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I will be here to help you further. See you around.
Thank you so much for the info about finding the QBSE app again! I'd deleted it because it was a bit annoying on the mileage tracking but then couldn't get it back. Your instructions about finding it again in the "not on my device" section worked a treat. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have it back! Thank you. Yay!
Solopreneur lacks all the good features of Self-employed. Takes forever make an invoice, and you guys tricked me into thinking that Solopreneur is an upgrade-it is far from it.
I was one that had subscribed years ago, but now when I try to log in it gives me a blank page. When I called customer service, they said it's because they deleted all of my information?? Is this true?
Your data will only be kept for one year from the date of cancellation of your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription, jkornfield.
This is to provide users with an option to resubscribe within that timeframe and regain full access to their original data. After the one-year period has passed, your account and all the data within it will be permanently deleted.
Let me know if you need anything else.
QBO is THE worst software I have ever used.
Yes they dump a great software (Self-Employed) and force us to switch to a garbage.
What a great leadership team Intuit, your team should all get fired
